I look at the 2002 season and i saw WOW. We need to draft him!! even at the second overall pick!

I wouldn't mind drafting Brown even though I don't think RB is really a need.

If we trade down and we pick him and an OT that is the whole draft..lol.. i think since fergurson is not going to declare, there is no other OL that is worth that 2nd overall pick

We havent had a 100 yard rushing performance all year.

I dont think we have any greater need then running back.

That's the kind of production we need out of a running back. And forget the numbers, he missed one entire game and still had nearly a 1000 yards this year, while splitting time with the caddy.

Taking him at number 2 is a reach. I like the guy and would draft him in a second but he is projected lower then that...we do not want to reach, we want value.

After looking Brown abit more in the SugarBowl I have changed my mind about Benson - Brown is the man da Phins need. However, not at number 2 we need to trade down get more picks - then pick Brown:D

I'll wait to hear more about Brown from Mel Kiper before I say he's worth drafting or not. Call my crazy but I trust Mel's word!

Okay, you're crazy.

;)

I read what I can find from Kiper and find it interesting to see what he has to say, but I won't ever trust him fully because of the way he reacted to the Heath Shuler/Trent Dilfer choices back in that draft (loved Shuler and thought Dilfer was a terrible choice -- which one has the Super Bowl ring, Mel?).

i know you can't judge people based on one game, but after watching this game i would say that Brown looks better than Williams. But again, i am a firm believer in not judging someone by one game...

That's way too early for me to remember, but didn't both quarterback's suck? I know Dilfer has a ring, but to act like he was/is a good quarterback is a reach. And I'd rather draft Benson than Brown.

He acted as though Shuler was so much better that it was unthinkable how they got drafted. It's the comparison between Shuler and Dilfer being so far off that is laughable. Dilfer was a solid pro for a respectable amount of time. Even before a foot injury forced his retirement, Shuler was a joke. He got beat out relatively early on by second day pick Gus Frerotte.

When did the two get drafted? I was much too young to remember.

1994. Shuler was 3rd pick, and Dilfer was 6th. When Tampa took Dilfer, you'd have thought that they just picked a guy who had been pronounced dead or something by Kiper's reaction.

funny point of interest... i just looked up Shuler's stats (as i've never heard of him).

check this out:

1997: 1288 yards 2 TDs 14 INTs

holy cow!
