Ronnie Brown is a quality NFL running back. But he might have to be more than that - maybe a lot more than that - if he wants to be the featured back in the Dolphins' offense beyond the 2009 season.

"A lot will depend on this year; it's a critical year for him," said former NFL executive Michael Lombardi, who in April reported on his Web site (National Football Post) that the Dolphins had discussed trading Brown. "They know they have to be better at running back than they've been.

Ronnie Brown: Baddest Man in the Whole Damn Town ...

"Tony Sparano commented on the differences he’s already noticed – his strength, decisiveness, and confidence. ANYTHING negative that’s said about Ronnie’s 2008 season is absolutely ridiculous."

I agree with Joe Rose 100% about Ronnie. He's all set to have a HUGE season in 2009. I hope Ronnie keeps working hard on every little detail of his game ... physically, mentally, watching lots of game film ... all that stuff. I want Ronnie to get every inch of yardage possible this year ... rushing and receiving. It's time for NFL fans all over the world to know Ronnie like us Dolphins fans do. We're with ya Ronnie!

I love Ronnie, but knowing Tuna, the only way we keep Ronnie is if he is a top 5 back in the league. BP doesnt like giving huge contracts to RB's.

I agree. Ronnie needs a big year if he wants a big contract. He needs to also go injury free as well.

I think if he has a season similar to last year, he would be tagged. The tag price on a RB is not too bad and it would give him another shot to prove her deserve a big contract.

Personally, I think he has a HUGE year. He should be fully healed from his knee surgery from two seasons ago and he will have a better OL than last year. The guy is due and has all the talent of a top 5 RB. Now we just need to see it on the field for and entire season.

My Bold Prediction (wth a healthy Ronnie): 2009 NFL MVP!

Don't forget Parcells might be gone after the season ends, so it will be Irelands call. I am hoping ronnie gets a chance to prove his worth this year and they give him the ball more, 12 times a game doesnt cut it for a back like Ronnie.

All anyone needs to know about Ronnie is Bill Belichick and when asked who he would have out of the AFC, one player, he said Ronnie. That is saying something. The whole conference. Ronnie always produces when given the oppurtunity. He has had one stretch in his career when he wasn't really splitting carries, and as much as I hate to give props to anything from the Cam Cameron era, people forget how much Ronnie was destroying teams before he tore his knee up. I think this is a 1200 yard year, with a good 400 or 500 receiving, and I see alot of TD's for him, 13 or more. Big things from Ronnie this year. Don't think he doesn't hear all the haters and their knock of him, he does, and wants to prove all of them wrong.

really thats been about it for the last 9 years of his footbal career

as the man said above us, the one year he was the feature back he was having a MVP type season. 991 rushing/receiving yards in 7 games was just insane. I dont think that season was a fluke and given the chance he can repeat it.

I really want to see Ronnie have an outstanding year. The kid deserves it...and so do us fans.

Can we give the kid the ball more than 20 times in one game? I'd really like to see us feed him the rock on a consistent basis. Ricky can still get his 5-10 carries as well

Random question, I haven't posted much on Finheaven, just once or twice every 2-3 months. Anyways, my question is, does Finheaven still think Ricky Williams is better than Ronnie Brown? I recall so much ridiculous debates the past 2 years, and I want to know if they still think that.

Out of all the starters, Ronnie is the least of my worries. He is now 100% healthy, and a full year removed from the injury. He is good to go.

its a contract year very logical especially at his age. I personally think we should franchise him if he has a good year

I would really prefer to do this instead of a long term contract. Let's make him a top 5 paid RB each year until his play doesn't warrent it. I doubt RB and his agent would be to happy but it would protect the team and pay him real well.

Or lets do a three year deal max but I have a hard time believing he'd sign it.
