ronnie is a beast i just loves the way he plys the game he love's contact he will seek out who is trying to tackle him and then run him over then get up and have a smile on his face.people think how many years have we been looking for that elite running back this guy is the man we need to just lock him down give him that contract he deserves he is going to take the nfl by storm this yesr he will have a big pay day i love this kid and hope he is a dolphin for life!!!!!!!!!!!:woot:
 
I dont think we need to rush to extend his contract just yet.

I think in this situation, RB's contract will tip in the Trifectas favor this year.

He is definately going to play hard and at the same time I think we get a home team advantage when they negotiate his contract this offseason.

Besides we still do not know whats going to happen next year with the collective bargaining agreement.
Either way its a win win for us.

Also hopefully he can stay consitent as far as his health. Last year was a new start for ronnie brown.

Relax man. The guy is excited about the prospects of RB and the season. DOn't quell the excitement with sarcasm.

While I agree with that assessment GB, we have to give him more touches in order for him to do so. I don't mean an inordinate amount of touches either. Maybe 50-75 more touches over the course of the season.

You should know not to expect anything less from WV. He's always been Ronnie's number 1 fan :rolleyes2:.

I believe Ronnie is due for a monster year and the Dolphins will award him accordingly.

That may very well be true, but I don't know if that's in Ronnie's or the team's best interest at this time. Then again, we'll never know if he can handle a full workload unless we give it a try.
 
Unfortunately, I believe Ronnie has to PROVE to this FO that he is up there with the elite backs, and this is the year to do it. An extremely powerful line, his knee is healthy, he's feeling more comfortable with his body than ever.. all he has to do is go out there and perform. If he doesen't show that he can be up there with the best, then it seems as though the FO will feel that he's replacable with a guy that can do most of what Ronnie does, for a much cheaper contract.

I would hate to see that kind of thing happen, but this is after all, a business.
 
I think to make best use out of Ronnie we have to give him 20+ rushes a game. If we're not going to run him that much then we're not making best use out of him. Heck if our FO doesn't think he's worth using 20 times a game maybe he's more valuable as trade bait and they should move him.

I like Ronnie and really want him to get used a lot and break over 1000 yards this year. I think if they use Ronnie more and change him out less for Ricky and Cobbs and let him get into a rhythm we'll see a return to his early 2007 form. Let him rush the ball 20-25 times a game and by the 4th quarter when the opposing defense is tired and Ronnie has a full head of steam he'll break open those big yards and we'll get 1000-1200 yards this season out of him.
