If Ronnie Brown doesnt get in camp soon, he may not know enough of the scheme to start weeks 1-4. After that, when Ricky returns, he may not start anyhow. I suspect Ricky will be our best RB once week 5 rolls around.

Saban had this comment about Browns holdout:
"We respect that as long as it's taking into account the balance of how it is affecting the player in terms of what he is missing and how much he is missing and when is the right time to get that done in terms of the best interest of the player."

Ronnie Brown may be putting himself in a bad situation on the field. Although his pocketbook may turn out to be in ok shape.

Ronnie will sign and be our starter. He is our potential our future:)

Would hate too think we are depending on Ricky again! I'm not sayin I'm just sayin. :shakeno:

your right, why dont we get rid of him and draft Codi McGuire next year:tongue:, he is a future pro bowler for sure:goof:

As long as Brown signs in the next week or so, he should have plenty of time to get up to speed. It's well-documented HB is an easier-than-most position for which to learn a playbook.

I think you have a point there about the position, but he does only have 20 or so days till week 1

We through Gordon in before he was ready (knowing the offense) and look at what happen to him? I want our futire star back to take his time and learn the "O" an dnot lose him to an injury.

I think you have to look at sabans comments as gingerly incinuating that Ronnie needs to be in camp to learn the complexities of the offense and get up to speed of the NFL.
As seen in the just released roster.... there are some extremely talented players who arent on the 1st team. I believe its an tactic to evaluate how some players may compete against 1st team offenses. Not necessarily a practise performance statement.
Saban has said all along he wants to see how some players perform in games.

I'm really interested in seeing what happens once game 5 comes around. Even if Brown isn't up to speed by the time the season starts, he's still going to get reps. It's not like a QB where they basically either play or they don't. Once game 5 comes around I think they will split time if Brown is ready or Ricky will get it all. I just don't see Gordon in the mix.
