Ronnie Brown may not start in Miami Weeks 1-4 after all

Running Back by Committee.

Whoever proves themselves will be "the man" come 2006.

It is going to be Ronnie. I don't think we will ever put our faith in Ricky again as the starter and focal point of this team.

I think Saban will put in the best back for the situation. I don't think he'll say "Hey, Ricky quit once before, so I'm not going to give him the ball on 1st and 5." If Ronnie isn't ready to play, he isn't going to play. If he is ready to plan then he'll either start by himself or split time with Ricky. If there's one thing I've learned so far this offseason it's that the only one with a grudge against Ricky are the fans.

If Ronnie doesn't sign until after next Monday, he's still going to have the full compliment of four pre-season games to get up to speed.

There's still plenty of time.

We through Gordon in before he was ready (knowing the offense) and look at what happen to him? I want our futire star back to take his time and learn the "O" an dnot lose him to an injury.

Gordons Injury had nothing to do with the scheme and his knowledge of the offense.

I believe Ronnie still has plenty of time to learn the system and be the starter by week 1. He will get plenty of carries in the Pre-Season games which can actually teach a player alot about the speed of the game and etc. It won't be hard to learn the system, the only problem rookie RB's have is picking up their blocks for a blitz and Ronnie was pretty good at that in Auburn. Even still I would be very suprised if Gordon didn't get a bunch of carries for a couple of games.

who cares if he doesnt start? i want the best player to start.... whether its Gordon, Morris, Minor or Brown.

Brown has plenty of time to prove his worth to the fins...

RB is the easiest position out there to make the transition from college to pro. LT held out until preseason game two and was dominant from the start of the season... They have compared his overall ability to that of an LT (but LT walked into camp and didn't have the competition that RB will have) so I 'm thinking he'll get in in just before HOF game little after... What will be the big learning curve is the blocking chemes, blitz p/u reading and releasing for pass routes and making sure he sees what the QB sees, getting on the same sheet. That's what he's missing and it takes reps to develop that type of report. So that's the only thing I'm worried about is not getting enough reps where he will be proficient at that stuff. He's not gonna come in and start running with the first team. he has to move up in front of Morris(having a solid camp) williams (same), Gordon(same) so who do you say to" hey guy great job but the rook is here and now the rest of you will have to share carries with him... Oh by the way since he's not in football shape, conditioning his body to the rigors of a high paced "Saban" practice for a week and a half, he is more vulnerable to the hamstring pulls, twisted ankles, fatigue injuries... He needs to get his butt into camp! What's the difference between 19-22 million? Gimmie a break!

well i hate to be the voice of reason for the dolphin nation but if ricky isnt here and ronnie isnt here i sure hope that lamar gordon can step in and show us something. i would also like to go on record and say kay jay harris may be our savior until r &r get back. i belive in harris because of his size and i also belive in sex money and rock and roll . i think its time for another beer.

Hell I say raise all ticket prices another 20 percent so we can pay Ronnie. After all he does deserve to be the highest paid running back in the NFL. Its not like I can afford tickets now at 50,000 a year salary.

The matter is not over true money its about cap money and liability. Money wise it makes no real differance to the team but capwise it could be huge. Cadillac took 15 million so at least I give him props for getting deal done. We probably could have got Shaun Alexander for less money than Ronnie's agent is asking for.
