This will be Ronnie Brown's second year in the NFL and at times last year he showed that he could be a very good NFL back. How long do you guys think (if ever) it'll take for him to get to the "elite" status of NFL backs (the Shaun Alexander/L.T. level). I love the way that this kid runs and if he stays healthy I don't see why he can't be a consistent 1500+ yard rusher.

If he improves every year.... in about like 5 more seasons.

Well it took LT only two years, LJ has played 3 and is #1 pick on most fantasy boards, Lewis used to be called eliet after only 3 years, and busted the year after...Alexander took 4 years Portis took 2 I think that if he has 2 straight 1500 yds seasons he is ready to be called elite

But it may take awhile to do that. Also he has to avoid an injusry every season.

I think he will be vey comparable to LT in a couple more years.

two seasons with at least 1500 yards will makes him an elite. If we utilize is recieving talents, he could be considered the best overall RB within a few seasons. Ronnie's talent is for real, I'm serial.

elite status doesnt matter. other teams are gonna know their going up against a bruising runner who can also out run you, as far as im concerned, thats all we need.

its hard to say, if culpepper returns to his old form, brown will have to run that much

how many 1000 yard rushers did minnestoa have when culpepper was playing at his top level. they way our recievers are play we only need about 900-1000 yeards from our running back to be successful. He is a great pass catcher which is a absoloutely perfect fit for how our offense might be in the next couple years, remember he was never carried for over 250 times a year since high school. we will have to wait to see

Well if Culpepper had Robert Smith...maybe they would have been more successful? The running back by committee routine is not foreign to Minny. They had RBs who routinely got banged up (Melwelde Moore) and are a shadow of a real true #1.

I do like that Culpepper utilizes his TE. McMichael will be an even bigger force in the passing game. His numbers will improve.

how many RBs did Minny have with Culpepper's tenure who were even close to Ronnie's talent. MM will not forget Ronnie...and besides Chambers, we don't have that much to brag at WR(Booker good, Hagan rookie).

he needs like two 1500 yard seasons in a row or close to that b4 he'll be elite but i think by the time his 4th season roles around he'll be considered top 4 or 5

I almost think elite rusher isn't such an honorable title anymore because even though th erunning game is the cornerstone of a great offense, good running backs are more dime a dozen than they've ever been.

Most seasons, over 20 backs get 1,000 yards. You used to find under 10 per year.
