Ronnie Brown...Where R U?????

Such a thin line for this kid between starting 16 games and coming off the bench all 16 games. He's got to understand that and be anxious to get into camp. I can't imagine what the holdup is. If they were talking at all before Smith signed, once that signing happened, this one should've been more or less automatic.

no, he's not allowed to have any contact with the team other than trying to get a deal done.

When the regular season starts, Ricky is not allowed to have any contact whatsoever with the Phins till his suspension is over. Thats the way Jamal Lewis' worked last year, Ricky's is just 2 weeks longer
 
Does anybody have any word on Kay-Jay?

Ronnie will be fine. He is a bright hard working kid. I believe that if he is signed by next weekend he will be in very good shape, both physical and mental, by second week of pre-season. It will be good to see Lamar show what he can do.

I'm with you Nublar, I thought today being an off day, the two sides would come together on something today. I am starting to wonder about what's going on. I know that it's the agent and the Dolphins that have to work this out, but eventually, he has to take the mind set that Caddy did in Tampa and say, hey, I don't like missing camp and i'm going to do what I have to do to get in there. Now that of course doesn't mean taking a bad deal, but, some middle ground has to be met. I just didn't think he would let his agent drag it out this far, and from what i've known of Mueller in the past, he's usually pretty good at coming up with fair but realistic contracts. Ronnie, you are getting to a point where this becomes a distraction more than just a contract negotiation. I agree, come the middle of the week, if nothing is done, then in my opinion, Ronnie and his agent are asking for some unrealistic contract, and I applaud Nick and Randy for not caving in, just to get this kid in camp by handicapping themselves financially.

A lot of the top 12 picks still aren't signed. Chances are he will be signed just before the HOF game. Remember people most teams are JUST starting camp now and we have the extra preseason game. Plenty of time and running backs don't need as much time in practice early in their careers like other positions.
 
it would be awesome on ricky's first carry in the HOF game he busts out for a 55 yard TD run.

I don't have a link but I'm sure that the rule was changed this year that during a suspension the player is allowed to have contact and be around his team. He still can't practice I think

It takes about a week for a person's body to go through the shock of getting hit and adjusting to it - becoming football ready. I would assume, IMO, that in order for him to play anything more than just a few plays, the coaches would hold him out of the game unless he had that week under his belt.
 
Def time everytime i see another rookie sign or another big name player get an extension i get sick to my stomach. We really need him in to learn the system and get his reps.

If braylon edwards or cedric benson signs, then i'll get worried. but besides them. i don't really care for the rest.
