I see often people critizing Brown, asking if he's worth the number 2 pick.. is he HOF material.. etc... But that's unfair to judge. the question is simply was he the best pick for us at #2 in that years draft. I think the answer is yes... and it's not even close. 2005 might very well have been the worst draft in history... look at the top 10! I'll take Brown easily
2005 - Round 1
Sel # Player Position School Team
1Alex Smith QB Utah San Francisco 49ers
2Ronnie Brown RB Auburn Miami Dolphins
3Braylon Edwards WR Michigan Cleveland Browns
4Cedric Benson RB Texas Chicago Bears
5Cadillac Williams RB Auburn Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6Pacman Jones CB West Virginia Tennessee Titans
7Troy Williamson WR South Carolina Minnesota Vikings
8Antrel Rolle DB Miami (Fla.) Arizona Cardinals
9Carlos Rogers DB Auburn Washington Redskins
10Mike Williams WR USC Detroit Lions
Sure Braylon and even Rolle have become productive players in this league but are either of them HOF? either of them worthy of number 2?
Just a thought...
