Ronnie brown

You guys need to cut DT some slack. I'll admit he wasn't impressive but the guy had no training camp, walked into a situation where the coaching staff was installing a brand new offense which they didn't even give playbooks to their players when they had that ONE DAY chance.

Like he was the only runningback doing that, hell runningback is much easier to pick up on than many other positions. He was ok last year but nothing special. maybe he develps

First and foremost anyone calling DT a bust or saying he wasn't that good is IMO just flapping for the sake of it. The kid ran strong and showed huge potential and did it dealing with that stupid hammy problem most of the time. I like him and can't wait to see him after a full year under his belt and training camp.

Second, the garbage about Ronnie being a biggest waste or not being that good is just nonsense. He provided us some serious highlites and amazing times watching him.......anyone remember 5 TD's in a game, the run against cleveland that took 9 guys to take him down, the KC game down the sideline after being drilled and everyone thought he was down, running straight over a DB into the endzone in not 1 but 2 different games? it goes on and on. He was a trouble free player that played hard (when he wasn't hurt) and didn't take plays off. Why do we just bash every guy that was on this team when we were bad? Seems like not to many people here know how to spell "L-O-Y-A-L

He was our guy and did well for us. Whether he is done now or not he was in no way bad or a waste.

Most sickening waste of the # 2 overall pick in the history of organized football.

Although I somewhat agree, look at the players picked 2nd-10th in that draft... the only true stars are the 2 CB's taken 8th and 9th, every other player is either a back-up or out of football...

i would agree on any other position, but rb is the easiest position to translate from collage to the pros,by the way,i always thought brown and thomas was the same player.

He's not worth four strands from a mop. Ronnie Brown symbolizes every strategic mistake this franchise has made for the past decade and beyond. A running back who redshirted in college and stayed a full 5 years is by definition not a great player. Classic case of someone who was rated properly as a second round pick during his senior season then the scouts and draftniks ridiculously over valued a handful of games late in his career, and the workouts. Consequently we got stuck with someone who was not a feature back and would never return #2 value. He's the equivalent of our stadium, and I always shudder to compare anything to that monstrosity.

Brown had a nice yards per carry average for most of his career but the majority of his huge gains were instant breakaways with nary a defender in sight, yet Ronnie always found a way to fall shy of the end zone.

I've been grinning ever since we got rid of him. Actually, that's not true. I'd all but forgotten the name, and this OP should be reprimanded for disturbance.

Ronnie was a bad pick at #2 because there are very few running backs whose production will be that much better than other backs to warrant such a high draft pick. A Barry Sanders type talent is a fine #2 overall. AP certainly has the sheer physical skills and ability to have been drafted there. But there was absolutely nothing gamebreaking that Ronnie had ever showed, except for running a great combine 40 that he would never come close to resembling on the football field.

I wasn't as skeptical of the pick at the time as I should have been, and perhaps many others weren't either, because it seemed as if the loss of Ricky Williams had taken us from a 10 win team to a 4 win team, so the obvious thing was to replace that talent. That lacked foresight though.

He'd be a great fullback. If ya'll are old enough to remember the days of Tom Rathman and Daryl "Moose" Johnson. He'd fit that role prefectly

Your logic about Thomas NOT having the playbook, off season, and a brand new offense doesn't make sense because his first game starting which was game #2 versus the Texans he ran for 107 yards(5.9 yards per carry) and the next game he ran for 95 yards
4.1 yards per carry...

I guess the no offseason,no playbook, and a new offense didn't effect his first 2 games as a Dolphin.

Then the rest of the season Thomas ran for 3.05 yards per carry which is TERRIBLE by anyone's standards.I don't think Thomas had a delayed reaction to no offseason,no playbook, and a new offense.

More likely that hamstring injury was more serious than thought at first because Thomas looked like a different running back but none of the excuses you mentioned are responsible for his play
