From yesterday's morning practice report PBP blog

"Ronnie Brown, meanwhile is making one-handed catches in the end zone. He’s a very smooth receiver."

I remember that this was a question by the experts coming out of college. Last year he looked very fluid also.

One thing I will say about a certain previous regime was they made a hell of a decision picking Ronnie over Cadillac.

people dont understand that Ronnie is a clone of LaDainian Tomlinson....the only difference between them is LaDainian has better speed overall, but Ronnie is more smash-mouth...im telling you...if Ronnie had the talent around him like LaDainian,he could put up just as good numbers...maybe even better, barring any injuries.....(god-forbid)

He was putting up better numbers last year with a lot less talent..

no one knows for sure if Ronnie would have ended up with better number by the end of the year so....:foundout:

RB has always had amazingly soft hands for the beast he is. Most of our wr's probably wish they had his hands.

Ronnie's pass catching ability is very underrated I think. I'm pretty sure NFL Live broke down the best RB's in the game now with the ability to catch passes...and he's wasn't top 5 (or top 10) I dont remember how many they did.

Either he's not getting credit or he's not being recognized because the Dolphins are so irrevelant at the moment.

Any expert that was questioning Ronnie's ability to catch is no expert. I remember before the draft Coach Gruden said Ronnie had the best hands in the draft that year.

He was a good selection, we will use a lot of screen and flares to the backs this year...especially if the run game gets going.

As I recall, the knock on Ronnie was not his recieving ability, but everyone was talking about the fact that he has never been the feature back in a backfield, and they wondered if he could hold up throughout the season, so far they were right to knock him on that. he has not been healthy the entire season yet, but i think we are in good hands this year with ricky and ronnie. if ricky doesn't decide to smoke out again.

Remember that article on ESPN recently where the failure author stated something like, "right now RB doesn't have much use as a receiver out of the backfield."

What a ****up. RB has been one of if not THE best running back receiver.

Yup! He wanted Ronnie The Hummer but had to settle with the Cadillac who hasnt been the same since they ran him dry his rookie year in the 1st couple games.

Looks like Saban knew the right pick ! Just not with Jason Allen haha

all the experts said ronnie had the best hands of any back in his draft class. i can't believe we haven't used that more - we love to dink and dunk 5 yard passes. why not send some ronnie's way?

It's about time someone brought up Ronnie's pass catching ability. When Ronnie and Cadillac were in the same Auburn backfield, the coaches realized that it was to their advantage to keep Ronnie on the field as much as possible to use all of his talents. In some formations, Cadillac would stay in the backfield and Ronnie would line up in the slot or split out wide. I saw him run 9 routes and torch defensive backs. I could never understand why the Dolphins didn't use Ronnie and Ricky in the same way.

Ronnie Brown is not far behind Brian Westbrook as one of the best catching RB in the league
