Ronnie cant run because Defenses can blitz everytime. We have a player that I wont name that has never heard of beating a Blitz. I think any kind of a downfield passing attack would open some daylight for ronnie. He is the real deal and can run over people and run around them. Dont Blame him for the lack of balence. And I dont want to hear about the stats because defending the dink and dunk passing game puts defenders in position to make plays against the run.

I agree. Teams have no fear of our passing game and are crowding the LOS. Our passing game is probably a laughing stock to defensive coordinators we have faced. We haven't burnt one blitz for a big play yet.

If you are being serious I must say thank you, I have been called a lunatic and D-bag because I dont think people are right to give one of our players so many excuses. I want whoever our QB is to at least keep the defense honest, I am a big Ronnie Brown fan and I think he can be a High speed bulldozer with any kind of running room. I think things are gonna change and people are get back behind ronnie again.

He's averaging only 17 carries a game, I think that has a lot to do with his low ypc.....he hasn't been able to get into a rythm. That is one of several reasons.....

play calling is suspect. maybe he isnt in a "rhythm" but recently hes been gettin decent yards and then his number is erased from the playbook (minus mularky's screens). ronnie will be fine with an offense that can pass, which needs the line to do so.

Yup. Too many people on the these forums have started only looking at the stats

"OH MY GOD RB HAS 0 100 YARD GAMES THIS YEAR, WASTE OF THE NUMBER 2 PICK."

Seems like there are about 5 people that understand football on these forums lately.

Well, great running backs like Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, and OJ Simpson, played with pathetic quarterbacks for most of their careers, who gave defenses no cause to worry about the passing game at all.

I suppose if all the defenses that ever played these backs had simply "run blitzed", these guys would have ended up like Sammie Smith?

Right now, Ronnie is a solid, all-around back, with good power, good speed, and good hands. He needs the ball more. But, he just has not proved himself as an elite back in the NFL (YET).

alot of ronnies problem is our patchwork offensive line we dont have mckinney anderson or well we got machintosh but he doesnt count since he all ways good for 5 offsides calls a game there is a reason they call him turnstall

How many elite backs get the ball as little as him? They wouldn't be elite for long.

I agree, the way they are blitzing every play, they are right there to stuff the run. People on here don't seem to realize. Then they know all we do is short 5 yard passes, so they bring everybody up. We didn't run up the middle but one or two times the entire game which is crazy, but it is because the middle was always stuffed full of guys going all out a cpep because they knew he would not make them pay. And he didn't, so they kept doing it.

people forget that a back like brown needs to be pounded to be effective. Ricky was like that too, the more he played the better he got. Brown is best in the 4th quarter, but we don't use him there because we are behind. We are behind because all our drives have to take like 15 plays to get in scoring range because there are hardly and deep or even intermediate pass plays that work out.

Oh and as bad as our oline is at pass protection, they seem even worse at getting a push and opening holes.

ronnie needs the ball 20 to 25 times every game !!!! im tired of saying this !!!!! run ronnie pass game is ours !!!! whats wrong w/ mularkey is he full of it ???? what a stupid name !!!! he sucks & so do a lot of our coaches!!!

Ronnie Brown is a stud, and he is getting a raw deal...but this is not because of Culpepper. The O-line cant run or pass block for their lives. This allows teams to bring it it almost every down and not have to worry about getting burned, not because Daunte cant get the ball down the field but because they know they will get to him before he has the opportunity to find the open man. Did you ever think the o-line could have something to do with Culpeppers dinking and dunking or is that out of the question, I understand we would feel alot better about our team if all of the problems were on the shoulders of one guy, but lets be realistic here...there is plenty of blame to go around, none of which can be directed at Ronnie.
As far as your comment about how defenses play us, How honest do you suppose any defense is going to be forced to play against Joey Harrington...im gonna take a stab at it and say there would be no improvement over Culpepper just by seeing what Joey did in detroit. The one thing Joey would bring to the table that Daunte hasnt in the past two weeks, getting flustered by the blitz and throwing big interceptions. You think things are bad now, imagine what they would look like if we start turning the ball over more. Maybe Joey wouldnt hold on to the ball as Daunte is seeming to do at times, but just because he wont hold onto it doesnt mean its going to lead to a big play...id venture to say more often than not it might lead to a pick.

I love how people want us to throw way down field.. and we cant because culpepper has someone in his face WELL B4 the recievers are OUT of their break. Their backs are turned to culpepper so the only thing he can do is throw short routes. Please PLEASE watch the games.. lol

I don't think people want a hail mary every play, but what about 10 to 15 yard routes? What about plays where the ball is thrown to where the reciever will be, not wait till he gets open kind of plays?

I say its a give and take right now. Many plays pep doesn't have any time, but there are times when he does, he doesn't seem confident enough to make the big play. He either waits for something that never happens and gets sacked or dumps it off. (which is way better than throwing to the other team, so he is improving)
