:up:I think he can meet/beat this number IF he/the o line stay healthy. I am intrested to see what your opnions are about this and if you think he can reach this milestone, as his best year he only had 1,060 yds. Man, we have a beast of a RB. What do you think?

I'd rather have Ronnie and Ricky get 1,000 each than Ronnie end up with 1,400 and Ricky with 800-900. Nothing against Ronnie, but I think having two 1,000 yard rushers is more special, and says more about the O-line and scheme, and that's what I'd rather have remembered rather than a statistical harrumph for one player.

Of course, I wouldn't complain either way! :)

^^ Yeah plus Ronnie is due a new contract... i'd prefer that he and Ricky get 1000 than he get 1400 and Ricky get 600.

It's important to remeber how many touches Ricky Williams receives. Ronnie doesn't take the ball as much as the other elite backs in this league such as AP, Jones-Drew, Chris Johnson, Forte, Turner etc. but his numbers are right there. Ronnie's vision has truely improved as has his knack for finding the end-zone. Special player. Note to Jeff Ireland sign this guy ASAP b/c we all know Bellicheat is very high on him. If he goes to the Pats were are done for

The Wildcat is a big part of Ronnie's improved vision - it gives him the space and time to choose his hole. Remember his tap-dancing problem? The Wildcat translates it to productive time spent. Again, not knocking Ronnie, but what I love about our coaches is that the Wildcat took one of Ronnie's few weaknesses and translated it into a strength based solely on the scheme.

VERY well put!!!!! GREAT post!!!!

I'd sure love to see it. I can't call a RB that can't break 1K yards for any reason "A beast". We wouldn't think that if Ronnie played for the Jets.

I think even if Ronnie gets 1400, there will still be people here calling him an average RB.

I think this is a really important thing to note. First about his vision (which so many complained about 3 years ago) and he is finding the endzone!

Here are the touchdowns on the ground since Week 1 2008:

Michael Turner 22
DeAngelo Williams 20
Thomas Jones 18
AP 17
MJ Drew 17
Ronnie 16
Brandon Jacobs 16
LenDale White 16

Not bad company at all.

They could both finish below 1000 yards for all I care, as long as we win.

you wouldn't call Maurice Jones-Drew a beast?

Bo Jackson wasn't a beast?

Ricky's 5.2 ypc is the highest, err... most of his career. Plus he's the team's 3rd leading receiver with 130 yds. Not bad for a 32 y/o RB. Mayber there's something to being a vegetarian and practicing yoga.
