Ronnie & Ricky Backfield Nicknames

The Giants running game I think was nicknamed "Thunder and lightning" back during the season when the Giants went to the Super bowl. That was the only year that Ron Dayne was actually running the ball pretty good, Tiki was obviously leading the group, but Dayne did good too. It's pretty obvious who was thunder (big power back) and who was lightning(quick, fast, elusive) with the two.

That was his nickname at Auburn because Carnel Williams nickname was Cadillac and since Brown was the power back his nickname was Hummer as in the vehicle

A "hummer" is also known as a blow-job, hence the horrible nickname for a guy.

"Thunder and lightning" far predates the Giants. It has been in use ever since the first big, fat RB lined up next to a small, quick RB.
