Ronnie v. Ricky

Why is Miami only giving Ronnie 8 carries a game? Ricky has done nothing to this point to warrant splitting carries. Barring the Tampa game, Ronnie is lighting up defenses, why not give this guy 20+ carries a game? Now I love Saban and think he will make the Fins a super bowl champ....I question the fact that Ronnie is not getting the touches that he deserves. Especially consider that Frerotte sucks right now, why not rely on the running game? Please someone let me know what is going on!

I wish I knew what was going on. Linehan's playcalling has been horrible at times. The offensive line is probably the biggest reason because they're not making any holes. Ronnie has shown signs of greatness but he's also had quite a few runs for negative yards. Thats mainly because of the run blocking. Maybe Linehan felt Ronnie has been more useful as a blocker. Anyway you look at it, it all comes back to the oline. Houck and Saban need to get to work on it asap.

If you added Ronnies and Rickys carries toghether its not enough for Ronnie....there seems to be some reason they are giving up on the run im not sure what it is they have given up on it even when we arent far behind...I think Ronnie needs to get 20-25 touches and Ricky 10-15 jmo. I dont understand it either but im sure Nick will adress it he is a fan of the running game.

If you ask me :D ... I think defenses respect Ricky more when he is in the backfield than Ronnie at this point. Ronnie still hasnt proven he can take over a game where as Defensive coordinators know what Ricky can do to a defense.

That said. I agree with a lot of what your saying ... Ronnie should get 20 carries a game. I also think Ricky should get 20 carries a game. Gus cant win a game with his arm but he can manage a game very effectively. We should put the 5 biggest meanest O-Lineman on the field and say ... push the D-Line back and beat them to a pulp with our running game.

Ricky as we all know from the past gets stronger and stronger as the game goes on and early indications of Ronnie is he is gonna be the same type of back. They have the ability ... each of them ... to wear down defenses ... now imagine both of them going full bore all of the time.

I'm not sure but my thinking is that the nicktator is just trying to up his ypc. and build a little confidence in the kid, plus I saw earlier he is in fact the nfl's #10 leading rusher
and ricky will be fine, I'll bet ya we whoop up on ol' new orleans.
