If he puts his shoes on the right feet he will beat out Wheeler. I think the job is Tripp's to lose.
He must be listening to other reporters, or reading their notes. I had no idea that he had such a great command of the English language....lol

could they be looking at Tripp at MLB, not only as a backup to Ellerbe, but to start there, move Ellerbe to outside linebacker, and let the best two out of Misi, Wheeler and Ellerbe start at the two OLB positions?
Don't think you can acquire a UDFA without signing him.

well HOOPS, a couple comments on that.
if walt aiken cant beat out jimmy wilson on the field, checkers, jax, tiddly winks, than he has NO business on this team in any spot!!
if jimmy wilson is still on this team at camps end it is a MAJOR failure on the teams part as he is a big time liability MOST of the time and has cost us big in more than one game. he is one of those guys who makes one eye opening play and then 15 bad ones. why he is not gone i will never know. he should have gone with nolan caroll who is the cb version of him. and whatever "improvement" folks think noloan made last year, it wasnt enough. not close and thats why he FINALLY got run. if there is one thing i think i am getting a bead on early with hickey as he sees a roster that is WAY OVERDUE of being purged and he is doing it. wr's, db's, etc.... have all been getting churned or having mass players available to do the churn and have plenty of talent in camp to replace the churnees [see wr's].
the same old, same old o-linemen who have been here since the george wilson days who have never been able to break into the starting line need to be churned. ireland and his predecessors were not cleaning out the roster as they should have. garner and yeatman and people like that, all need to be gone. we already know they cant beat out guys who were not any godd themselves!! time to open up some roster spots to find guys who can actually compete.
anyhow, jimmy wilson needs to go and if aiken cant put him to pasture than its a major malfunction.

People act like this dude was a #1 pick.
Since Wheeler is a bigger joke at LB, we are grasping at straws. I am hoping Tripp shows toughness and intelligence. Both of those traits are lacking in Ellerbee and Wheeler.
If he shows a nose for the ball, and he call call the plays, why not?
Both of them have shown nothing. Our defense really suffered without Dansby and Barnett.
It has to do with Wheeler sucking. Tripp also shows me more instincts then any LB on the team. It has nothing to do with him being white or any other zach thomas comparisons. I think the guy can play your welcome to disagree
you didnt even know who he was untill we drafted him. i would bet anything in my hosue..., no....my hosue itself that you never saw ONE GAME he played BEFORE the draft.
so, that being said, how do you ACTUALLY KNOW the guy wont start? he is like any other rookie, maybe he can play, maybe he wont but acting like you KNOW is the only thing that deserves the laughing emoticon at the end.

I think Hickey will be looking for MLB thats waived after June 1. Tripp may be good but odds are he will be a backup and STs good player.
meaning what? since when are white lb's a new thing? they are all over the nfl and have been since the nfl started.
in fact, a majority of the GREAT nfl lb's have been white. not because of their color just because thats how its been. it just happened to be some guys who played great happened to be white, just like their have been many blacks and hispanics and islanders who have played awsome, two of the VERY best, lawrence taylor [the best] and derek thomas were black. not because they were black, they just happened to be black.
i dont blink and eye that tripp is white any more than i do clay mathews in green bay, brian cushing in texas, etc.... .
pretty absurd post suggesting people like tripp because he is white.
