Well with our current dilemma with Ronnie I have thought about something I have thought an aweful lot about before. Capping rookie salaries. Seeing contracts offered to guys who have never played a down has been disguisting over the years. Why is it these guys should receive these kinds of salaries? Often to become a bust, or get injured and not even play.

Now I am not sure how you would limit salaries... maybe pick by pick through the first round. Then the following rounds as a whole would follow each limit.

So;

1st Round: 1-32 (all have their own determined limit)
2nd Round: All follow one limit
3rd Round: All follow one limit
4th Round: All follow one limit
5th Round: All follow one limit
6th Round: All follow one limit
7th Round: All follow one limit

Of course the 1st overall pick would be the highest salary, followed by the sencond, third, etc.

You could even put a position type base on it. QBs would make more than say Cs. What do you guys think? I have always thought rookies got paid way too much, only to underachieve.

i'm probably naiive to agree with this guy to some point. 17 posts and he's already on the right track. its probably been talked about before but its a good concept.

Nothing will ever happen as long as the owners keep turning a profit. I'm sorry you think people should have a salary cap. I wouldn't want someone telling me how much I should make.

It is rediculous for players to come in and demand millions of dollars after proving nothing. Sounds fair to me. I know if I was drafted and they made this rule I would understand. But then again I am one of those guys who would take a paycut for his team in the prime of his career if it meant we could have a better chance of winning. Too bad none of us guys ever make it to the NFL.
