Rookie Contracts Progressing Slowly

I was wondering when the South Florida media was going to address this.

All we've heard was the scuttlebutt from the national media.

Hopefully Smith will sign a contract and we can get Ronnie in TC.

I'm not so worried it's not like he's a QB that NEEDS every rep he can get to progess at a good pace. If he's a few days late oh well. Let the boy get his money.

I think at the most, Ronnie misses a week. Maybe 8 days. He'll be in after that. He is not the prima-donna type and he wants to play ball.

YEah I think so too.

SF is such a poorly run organization. They knew they wanted to draft Smith, but they played games, trying to get trade offers or whatever. They knew the were going to draft Smith, they should have started contract talks ages ago. They should be done by now. That organization has gone from the class of the league in the Walsh era to the dregs of the NFL. If SF had done things the right way we'd already know what Brown would be getting and we could knock this out. Instead we are waiting for a terrible organization to negoitate--probaly lowball tactics and we are stuck in limbo with Gordon as our starter. Whew.

He's had the rookie camps and mini-camp and he has a playbook, he will not really miss much of anything other than reps, and hey, with all the season-ending injuries we seem to have the first week or two of camp lately, maybe it's not a bad thing that Brown comes in a few days later and breaks that hex. I'm not too worried about it.

i think the whole thing is just stupid. i mean alex smith is a QB. so what ever money he gets should not effect what Ronnie brown, caddy, or benson gets. they are RBs. caddy and benson should be waiting for ronnie. ronnie shouldn't even be worried about smith they play totally different positions so there is a different pay scale.
