Rooting against the Colts

I was in another forum talking about the NFL and I told a Seattle fan
"Do us Dolphin fans a favor and beat the Colts.
Save our perfect season."

And this other guy comes in and says
"I would probably be rooting for someone to beat the Colts except for the fact that the '72 Dolphins have been rooting against everyone for thirty years. That's really pathetic and classless. It also won't make this year's Dolphins suck any less."

Now Im not sure what team he favors but sounds like a bitter fan. I responded with
"Has nothing to do with this years Dolphins, and they dont suck as bad as people thought they would. Im sure if your team held that record you would not want it to be broken."

I just wanted to hear some fellow dolfans opinion, are we being pathetic and classless because we dont want our record broken? I know they always say records are meant to be broken, but what is wrong with wanting to hold on to it?

if its broken i will get over it for this very reason...the media makes such a huge deal out of it....and that in turn causes snide remarks, jokes, and things like saying shula and co. are 'classless' lmao.

it is a tad bit pathetic to root against the colts for the sole reason of not beating our record, but so what? im not afraid to be labled as pathetic

I think San Diego or Seattle will knock them off....Manning is due for a crappy game...and if LT or Alexander can have huge games the Colts can be beat. I think Dungy might not mind losing a game so they can have the pressure of going unbeaten taken off of them.....they want to win a SB more than going unbeaten. I just don't see them going 19-0.

naw, get the loss over so I can root for them in the Superbowl. I would like to see Tony Dungy get one and few men anywhere show more class than Payton. After this year I think we will be in the hunt for real and there will be no more rootin for anyone but us.
