Assuming that we win out, the 2 wc spots are currently hold by KC and DEN. Yes, it would be cool to see them both lose 3 out of 5 but here's my point. Winning out puts us ahead of Jax, ahead of NYJ (+ 1 other loss for the NYJ). CIN are ahead of us but have a terribly hard schedule. I see us having great chances to compete with KC and DEN for a spot. If DEN finishes ahead of KC and KC loses 2 games, we would beat KC because of the tie breaker. In revenge, if it's a three way with them, DEN need only one other win in the conference to eliminate us. KC would be granted of the 5th spot over DEN (because of their division record) leaving us with DEN (4 conf. loses) and us with 5 conf. loses. IF DEN loses 2 conf. games, then we can get the tie breaker over them but I don't know with the common games.

I wish I could believe Miami is going to win out but the odds are not good. 8-8 would be an impressive turnaround. I do think the miami is among the top 6 teams in the AFC right now but they are saddled with the early season losses. Those close games (Houston, NYJ, NE) are going to ruin the chance for postseason play.

I'm not sure if that's correct. If KC finishes with the same record, but ahead of Denver due to division record, and we have the same record as KC, then we would hop both KC and Denver because we beat KC, even if Denver has a better conference record.

We're 0 and 3 in our division, even if we win out we're not going anywhere.

This is something a lot of people don't seem to understand, even if we don't get in the playoffs we will still probably improve as a team and have a better record than last year. It is a step in the right direction...

I'm glad the Jake the Snake got benched because I want to see how Cutler plays.

im rooting for the fins to win out and every other team to lose including denver

i'll root for Denver.

to lose.

going to a rookie QB at crunch time SCREAMS of desperation. I think the Broncos will miss out on the playoffs now. bad move.

I am listening to the Denver radio stations and trying to hear if there is any official mention on Cutler replacing Jake Plummer. Shannihan is suposedly going to make an "official announcement" sometime today on the situation. It appears Jake is going to be benched and many of the Bronco veterans are not happy with the change. :D Great, that is what we want to hear....a lot of unhappy Broncos and disunity in the ranks....we need Denver and KC to self destruct, and the Jets, Jax, etc.

Yes - the 1st tie breaker would eliminate teams from the same division. So if KC had a better divisional record then Denver would be gone. Then the 2nd tie breaker - head to head - would give us the better position.

That's why the Jets scare me. If they beat Buffalo then we would immediately be eliminated in any 2, 3, or 4 way tie that included the Jets.

all ties are settled in the division first, so if there is a three way tie with den kc and miami then kc and denver settle first then they go against us, so we get in first then kc or denver

You're wrong there. The division record won't mean anything when it comes to wildcard. Look at the other teams schedules and tell me who is going to go 11-5 or 10-6 to take us out. 10 wins gets us in easily.
