Kyler Murray is going to change NFL offenses like Steph Curry changed the NBA.
That was a great breakdown and history lesson.
Personally I’m not as gung ho on the Air Raid as the author was. That system in college and variations of it has won many games but few championships and even less so in the NFL. Much like the old Run & Shoot it relies on exploiting matchups against weaker players/coordinators that don’t really exist at the higher levels of football.
The Patriots ran a clinic on how to stop it and I suspect they will have many copy cats this year.
At the end of the day I’m still a fan of a balanced attack and a strong defense but if I was a Cardinal fan I would be excited to at least watch the show.

Don’t agree...he is an interesting weapon, but he is clearly not a perfect prospect.
In college he had the top rated O-line in college football... how will he fare when he playing much faster, stronger, smarter defenses lacking a O-line advantage?
I suspect he will get hit a lot more than in college which causes inevitable injury concerns.
We’ll see... I like the prospect... not convinced he is as earth shattering as some suggest.
I don't want it to happen, but Murray won't be in the league long at his size. There is a reason why many talented QBs his size don't pan out in the NFL. College is a COMPLETELY different league. You have LBs at 250 pounds running 4.4's and 4.5's, you have 300 pound linemen under 5 seconds. His body will not take the punishment of the NFL. He can only run so long, he has to pass from the pocket to be successful in this league....and he just isn't built to take those hits. I hope I am wrong, I really do! I would rather be wrong and see the kid succeed, but I just don't see it happening.
I'm glad we didn't draft Murray. Between his size, rumored lack of effort put into preparation, lack of preparation for media questions leading up to the draft, and consistent option to just go play baseball I think he's very far from a slam dunk. Lots of risk.

Mayfield literally came from the exact same team and went to the browns and set an NFL record for TDs by a rookie. You know the Browns that had won 3 games the two years before Mayfield got there.
Just look what Murray did to Bama. His oline got handled in that game. Threw for 300 yards 2 tds and ran for another 100 and 1 TD. Brown was basically on one leg. The whole "he comes from a loaded team. He cant be that good" is a really lazy argument. Mayfield and Murray did things the past two years that havent been done in college football. They are both special players. Murray even more so.
I have a totally different prediction. Murray went to an AWFUL team, he will run for his life for a couple years get injured multiple times and wont even be a starter 4 years from now. Maybe he even goes back to baseball.
I think it's possible he could "change the game" as he is very fast and talented but the combo of his size and the awful Arizona franchise, I have very low expectations.
Cliff Kingsburys offense wont work in the NFL, it just doesnt, teams have tried it before. Couple that with the fact Kingsbury wasnt even a successful head coach in college and it's a recipe for utter disaster. I give Kingsbury at most 2 years before he gets canned.
