Noone can say for sure if Sage is anything beyond a backup because he has never had a fair chance to shine. He has started two games one against one of the better defenses and one against Cleveland that they still was trying to play Frerotte in. When he came on in relief he shined at times and I'm a firm believer that it is no easier to face a team coming off the bench than it is to start against them. Its not like teams quit playing defense, many times they blitz to rattle the new guy and if the score gets tied as the Buffalo game did, I'm sure they try to play defense at that point. we shall miss ya Sage, hell we never really knew ya. I'm not sure what we had to lose the last week of the season by playing him but oh well. Im not one that says Sage is savior but he was no worse than Frerotte.
