ya sage should start next week. ya he deserves a chance. but lemon is and will be better. many of you disagree and thats fine, but i believe lemon will be our qb next year. i hope they dont put him in too early since hes learning the offense now, but think of it like this.
brees is a starter and a decent one
rivers will be a starter and many of you would like him here
lemon is better (opinion) than rivers. many fans in san diego think so as well. if rivers and brees will be starters, why not lemon, who was rigt behind them in the depth charts because of the politics of the game (drafted players that high obviously will be ahead of him) and outplayed rivers by far in the preseason.
i say give sage a chance since he knows the offense and if he shines, great. if not, lemon is developing. no matter what, gus should not start next week. hes losing games by missing wide open oportunities for us. theres no excuse for not being able to hit a wide open reciever in the nfl.

Never had the pleasure of seeing Lemon play but No matter how good he is he won't be playbook ready for a long time. If we are losing games because the QB is missing open WRs then imagine if Lemon is starting with only half as$ knowledge of the playbook.
IMO this season is Sage's last chance to stay in Miami, If he plays well then the FO may resign him to be a good backup to a rookie or a FA like Carr or to compete for the starting job.

All I know is that Lemon is probably smiling right now because he wants a chance to start and when he looks on the field and all he sees are Frerotte and Rosenfels it puts a big grin on his face.

i want to see lemon play too but he has been here what 3 days i dont think he will b ready by next sunday but i hav no doubt he will be fighting with sage next yr for the spot

Start Lemon. He's an unknown wildcard. He may shake things up.

Well, at first glance, I'd say start anyone but Gus. I'd like to see Lemon play, but he just won't be up on the playbook by next week. I can't tell you if Lemon is better than Sage, neither has any game experience to speak of. By most accounts, Lemon has more ability, but we just don't know...Saban may want to stay with Gus for another week (and of course put Sage in when Gus gets us behind by 20 points) and then start with Lemon next week or the following week...either way, any playoff hopes we had are dashed right now...

I have to agree, plus against the Saints poor defense we need someone who can make throws, and that certainly right now is not Frerotte. I dont care if the Dolphins have to go sign a QB from a local high school, but please let anyone but Gus start this game in Baton Rouge.

Sorry, but an UDFA doesn't start two weeks after joining a new team. If we will see anyone else, it will be Sage. I wouldn't mind him starting honestly, allthough I don't think it will change much.

I totally agree, Gus isnt doing it for us, no matter how much i supported him being a better QB than AJ. But it seems he doesnt have a nack of handling Linehan system with the players we have. We need a QB that has an arm to through to Chambers and Booker (we have missed a lot of long TD passes to them) but also a QB that can meanuever in the pocket and can still through on the run with some form of accuracy. REMEMBER we dont have the best OLINE (yet) to have just a pocket passer. Dats where Lemon comes into play , I say give Sage a chance, but i prefer to have Lemon be the QB for the rest of the year and prove his self as a potential future BQ (ie put him in the fire like Eli M last year and Warner wasnt producing). We all know Sage is a good back up but we looking for a starter to play a whole season not just 1 game at a time. Look at all the QBs that we had since Marino left only Feidler look close enough to be a full season starter. Huard no, Sage no, Druckenmiller no, Lucas no, and who ever else we had.

LEMON or BUST, till we draft Young or Jacobs next year if they leave

for the love of god folkes, Lemon is an UDFA we just got a week ago. The only chance Lemon starts next week is if both Sage and Frerotte break their arms in a freak arm wrestling accident, and even then it's not 100% certain

Anybody other than Gus. 11-29? When was the last time this clown completed at least 50% of his passes? I don't know much about Lemon, but I don't think he or Sage will be better than Gus. I think we will have none of the above next year. The trade for Lemon was designed to clear cap space so that we can make a run at some free agent offensive linemen, and hopefully a real quarterback. Oh yeah, and not David Carr. He is damaged goods at this point.

Please start sage just to see if he can be better than Gus ( almost anyone can). The Guskateer is just not doing it and what makes me not like him even more is the fact the he knows the system and can play this bad. I still think we need to run the ball more and just pound the apposing defense,(thats scott linehans fault) but we also need a quarterback who can make throws and thats definitely not Gus.

Let lemon learn the system

Let sage play

Release frerotte

Sign berlin for 3rd string
