A couple of issues here. First of all, Delmas does not have the range that Clemons has and will likely give up more plays. Clemons is not a playmaker, true, but its not like Delmas is a playmaker either. Delmas only has 6 picks in 5 years and has bum knees. I just don't see Delmas as a better pickup than Clemons.
I am not happy with the personnel decisions on the defensive side of the ball. Kevin Coyle is so over-rated. He should have been canned as much as Sheman should have. It's been a steady decline in defensive performance since Coyle got here and their decision making on personnel on thatghas been bad. Coyle has to shoulder some of the blame for that as he has to be providing input on defensive personnel.
Beyond that, Rosenhaus seems to have a conflict of interest if he also represents Clemons. If I were Clemons and my agent swooped in and found a contract for a competing free safety for the team for which i am incumbent, I would fire my agent. The NFL's rules on conflicts of interest should be examined. The players need to be protected because they may not be savvy enough to see this themselves. Why would Rosenhaus point out the conflict to Clemons?
