blog writer said rosenhaus during his show over hte phone when he mentioned bells status with miami also seemed "certain they will select a WR in round 1"

now for one, it makes sense b/c they wont get another great hands and great YAC and size player in nicks or britt for some time. I think these two have the chance to be stars but nicks has the best chance at being the next best WR int eh league. his hands were GIGANTIC during the measurements and his size is steller.

now think about it, u hae english on the board, sintim on the board, nicks, delmas, and britt for example in round 1, do you think you can get nicks and as good of a OLB at 44 say brown or barwin or a CB in macho etc and in return pick up a S at 56 or round 3 instead of going OLB in round 1 and a WR and CB later in the draft? guys I like, ayers, sidbury, brown etc are capable of doing what a OLB in english or sintim can do at 25 but at 44 there is no WR that can do what nicks or Britt can. TOUGHNESS, STERNGHT, Great HANDS AND route runnign especially Nicks great YAC.

thats how it comes down and if, BIG IF, we get Scott at ILb and Brown, our needs go to CB S and WR on the dime.

goodman they said prob might not get resigned according to Drew Rosen. b/c the market price for DB has gone up in FA and he will expect at leats 4 mill per year (def not worth it). so that leads me to believe we may go for a guy like Bartell which i like or mcfadden, pay him 4-6 mill younger and better, and draft someone in round 2-3 for later, depth, and to replace allen FA next year, pick up a WR at 25, and a NT, S, OLB, or CB at 44, 56 and round 3.

Drew Rosenhaus??? He has no clue who Miami will draft. I don't think there is any chance that Parcells will go WR at #25.

I say let Goodman go for that price and sign Bodden at midnight on Friday.

You're right about letting Goody go at that price. I find it hard to believe that they would go WR over finishing the OL or finding Fergie's replacement unless they have a gem later in the draft for those.

like i said if we get brown and even if we dont, we wont go C at 25 when we can get one at 44 or 56 in caldwell, woods, etc.

Brown is a great addition but a big if. If we do I still think there is room for guard upgrade. Smiley is often injured and Thomas, though he had a great pre-season, is untested. Alleman and Ndukwa (?) sucked. We would still need depth in the front 7. Interesting but I am skeptical that they would draft a WR at #25.

Only 61 days and we find out! :woot:

doestn matter, we wont go G in round 1 or 2. i HIGHLLLLLLLLLLLY doubt it. if nething its a Center if not addressed in FA.

I don't think there is any chance in hell they spend 25 on a WR, or even on offense now Carey is back. I have a feeling they'll go pass rush at that pick, unless they get a value DT.

Miami will pick the best player on the board. If a WR is head and shoulders above the rest at 25 then that's what they'll pick if they don't trade down. It's possible Heyward-Bey will be there and that would be hard to pass on.

i willbet you a million dollars that we wont take DHB if he is there.

I didn't say it was a sure thing, but why are you so certian Miami would pass on him? Do you think Miami would pass on him if he is the best player on the board?

I think the pick should be Vonte Davis, ALex Mack , Duke Robinson, Sintim, or if one of the elite OT in the draft fall to us we take them. WR can wait. How many 1st round pick WR make it and perform like they should?

In 2008 No WR were takin in the 1st

In 2007 5 were taken
#2 Calvin Johnson--Great Player
#9 Ted Ginn--Def Def not worth a 1st #9 pick. Shoulda took Willis
#23 Dwayne Bowe--Way better than Ginn
#27 Robert Meachem--Not very good
#30 Craig Davis-Wasted Pick
#32 Anthony Gonzalez--Will never be a #1
So 2 out of 5 are good starters and #1 WR

2006
#25 Santonio Holmes-Finally had a decent year.

2005
#3 Braylon Edwards
#7 Troy Williamson--Blows
#10 Mike Williams--Blows harder
#21 Matt Jones--Ok
#22 Mark Clayton--Terrible
#27 Roddy White--Will be great

I can keep going but you see the trend. Most WR in the 1st round are not that great WR found later in the draft are typically the best value and players. I dont see us taking a WR anywhere before the 3rd round

DHB us a track star and is a terrible route runner. Elite speed doesnt make you a good WR I mean just look at TEd Ginn

Nicks might be ok but he want even the best WR on his team until Tate went down and Foster slowed down.

Maclin is a great return guy and could be a decent WR.

Britt Ive heard has a major attitude problem . He is a drama Queen.

We should look at Passmore, Collie, Barden, Aaron Kelly with our 2nd day pick.

Tend to agree with Jamerson. I don't think we will and I hope we don't take a 1st day WR, let alone a 1st round WR.

It's deep aswell this year, very deep. I think there will be some very nice receivers around early day two.

With so many GMs and owners in love with combine numbers, they'll be some athletes that overtake some far superior football players.
