Ross and Ireland deserve an apology from disgruntled fans that doubted the BM trade

If Marshall does get suspended this year, he is going to be one more bad decison away from a one year suspension given the way Goodell handles repeat offenders. We are talking about an individual who has shown no ability throughout his career to stay out of trouble, much less the common sense to do so. Even if Marshall suffers no punishment resulting form this incident, does anyone truly believe he won't end up in another bad situation sooner rather than later? At this rate it's a safer bet that the number of touchdowns he catches will be lower than the number of games he is suspended over the next few years.

And how is that any different than when we traded two second round picks for him.

LOL at this post. We are not trying to win humanitarian awards here. Trying to win games. I dont give two **** s about the women he hit. She was probably out of line. Should have just taken the PR hit, it doesnt matter.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you. I mean, I hate to be without a #1 receiver, but I'd rather not be that team that's always in the headlines because their star player got arrested again
Remember, its only football.

It was a bad trade. If he had gotten back the two 2nd rd picks he spent on getting him I would feel differently. Maybe he will get suspended (doubtful IMHO) and maybe he creates problems in the lockeroom but neither of those things makes this a good trade. He is a top reciever in his prime with many good seasons in front of him and the team invested a lot in him, you dont cut ties the way they did. Its an unacceptable waste of team resources. This is definitely one time that Ireland deserves to be criticized.

The Brandon Marshall trade reeks of Ross. He was a woman beater in denver. Praise him all you want . STARPOWER!!!!!! Yea thats your STAR POWER Ross!!!!!!!!

Here is a thought, if not for the Manning BS, the Dolphins could have maybe sent Marshall in a package deal and swapped picks with the Rams for the 2nd overall pick to snag RGIII. Why should we applaud them for basically GIVING away a top 10 receiver????

lol yet you think it was a bad deal to get TWO 3rd round picks for him?

You make no sense, none.

When we spend 2 second round picks for him. Absolutely.

Hilarious that 6 arrests are WAY to much for Ireland when he traded for Marshall with 5 arrests.

I'm sorry you screwed the pooch ... AGAIN!!

How's that??

I remember back when we made that trade. I got into it with a number of posters around here.

I thought we should have gone after Anquan Boldin. He is much more reliable and doesn't have any baggage. I never liked the Marshal trade. We over paid for him to begin with. It was good for our offense and good for business though. If only we could come close to drafting wr's as good as the Steelers have been able to do over the years. They have done one hell of a job, they even know when to let them go at just the right time.

Yippee 2 third round picks... How often are you going to get 3 rd picks to play at the level he played at? Not often! This team has zero direction, good young defense and instead of improving this offense via free agency and draft we trade away one of our biggest threats. Don't know what else to really say about it. I think we got screwed again and gave away a top 10 wr for what?

They stuck by their beliefs and kicked out a man who strikes women and got 2 3 rd round picks. I applaud them.

I guess, that the decision to trade Marshall away for only 2x 3rd-round-pick, was in the end the right decision. At least I can understand it 100%. The only mistake the Front-office made, was the bad public relation work on this trade. If they would have released just a short statement (something like "We traded him away because of personal private problems, which marshall has") everybody would understand the deal or would at least waiting with the judgement til they know the details.

But there was no statement. The fans were getting angry. The media making 24 hours fun of the stupid Dolphins-FO. That stopped after the peoople were knowing the details. But there were already one day, when the Dolphins get bad reputation. Totaly unneccessary, if they would have released a statement!!! That is the reason, why Ireland & Ross didn't deserve a apology. The Trade was okay/good, the way they handle it was bad.

I don't think the Phins front office deserves any apologies from fans. I do think it was the right decision to unload him.
Top 5 receiver? Maybe in overall production but I can't forget the many, many dropped passes...the pissy attitude and the negative comments about his QBs.
The guy is not a team player. He's a distraction that has gone away.
Should we have traded for him in the first place? In hind sight...no. But, you have to take chances and that is what our front office is doing.
You can't deny that they aren't trying to improve this team. I give them my respect for trying to make this football team better.

yet we resigned Merling.

I don't see the argument. Personally think we gaffed if it was related to Manning - however, it sounds like it was a system driven decision.

I think we missed an opportunity... either do it earlier to move up for RG3 as has been highlighted, or.... leave it until late in preseason when injuries make teams desperate and overpay... a la the Jason Taylor trade to Washington for a 2nd.
