after firing Ireland, Philbin and company, no describe your plan here. Take your time, include FO, coaches, free agency, the draft and anything else you see as relevant.

Keeping Grimes and Clemons would be my main priority. Honestly with how pourous our run D has looked, I would seriously consider letting Starks and Soliai go. I know our LB's are piss poor, but neither of those two did anything the past two weeks. The front 4 was supposed to be the strength and they let Bilal Powell and Geno Smith run all over them.

Yes, what has Paul S. and Starks done that would make us miss them? Please tell me. If we can get anything for them, let's do it and move on.

Hiring this guy as head coach:

Gus Malzahn
Auburn Tigers Head coach

In Dave Hyde's article he asked what does Philbin bring to the table, what is his rare talent. He comes up with nothing. Well this guy is an offensive mastermind, look at his run game. **** is exciting. That is my first move.

oh & btw, I'm gonna be banging the drum for this guy until we hire someone else :bobdole:

There both free agents you're not getting anything for them

I'm torn between going for a young up and coming coach like a Malzahn or Jay Gruden or to go with a proven NFL coach, like trying to lure Jon Gruden, Dungy or Cowher out of retirement.

I love my Fins, but I don't think I am qualified.

I think since I know nothing about running an NFL front office my first move is to convince Gaine or someone else to stick around and help me in the organization and running of the office.

No college coaches pleasethanks. Honestly? The phins org. needs to break from the stigma of being a "good ol' boy" team and hire some men of color at the top; which will also gain some cred amongst the players, especially FAs. Foremost, Ross should be doing whatever he can to woo Dungy into a FO position whether GM or VP Ops. Concurrently, it's time Nat Moore was given a real shot at something. As for HC, only Gruden, Cowher, or Lovie Smith would suffice. If you cant get a name like that, then get Todd Bowles back in here. (he never should've left in the 1st place)

Any way you slice it though, he needs his FO somewhat in order before he makes a coaching decision. Having a Dungy, Moore, or hell maybe a Marino in there will pay dividends.

To me it is simple. Why can't we compete with the Patriots? They score tons of points and we don't. It's that simple.

We have to hire an offensive minded coach like the Eagles did with Chip Kelly. Art Briles of Baylor, Auburn's coach Gus Malzahn, maybe even Mike Leach of Washington State. Sherman's play calling is horrible. You can win with an average defense in the NFL but you cannot win with an average offense.

I think that the first thing to sort out is whether there are going to be changes in the coaching personnel. I would advocate for Philbin to remain but I would seriously look at replacing Sherman as the Offensive Coordinator. Sorting out the key coaching appointments is important if there is a significant change needed in player personnel to implement a new system.
Regardless, re-signing Brent Grimes to a multi year contract is a major priority. I would also look to re-sign Nolan Carroll and Paul Soliai. I would look to replace Wheeler with a tackling machine like Paul Pozluszny. I would let Starks walk and depending on Keller's health - his ability to come back from surgery, he would also probably not be pursued.
We need a big strong durable RB. Analyze those available but Tate from Houston would probably be examined closely. We need lots of depth, so I would be inclined to seek best available talent in the draft. If there is a big strong RB that takes the eye, he could be the 1st round pick.

after hiring my offensive minded coach, resigning McKinney, drafting 2 tackles early and one guard early and one late.

letting all other FA's walk, including grimes. too much money.

sign legarette blount.

move misi to ILB. Ellerbe strong side. draft stud LB who has instincts.

that's all I got
