For all the crap Ross gets from everyone (myself included), he deserves credit here. The guy wants to win.

The Dolphins have been synonymous with being used as leverage and missing out on top talent (whether it be coaching or players) for years now. Here we are in 2015 landing the top free agent 3 years in a row, Suh being the biggest FA signing in Miami Dolphin history. With a couple of good drafts, we will be legitimate contenders. The Dolphins are building a product can be excited about and will want to go see (in our new stadium, which we can also thank Ross for). We finally have a QB, a superstar staple of our defense, and quite possibly a competent Front Office (remains to be seen). If we don't win this year, Philbin will be gone, and I am confident we will attract one of the top coaches available (whoever that may be).

Bravo, Mr. Ross. The Dolphins are in better hands than we thought.

He's not afraid to open wallet, that's for sure.

He deserves a lot of credit for the Suh deal(assuming no snags). According to Mort it was Ross who was determined not to be outbid and that he would win this sweepstakes. For a once in a couple decades defensive free agent, to see an owner have no restrictions in going after the guy is great.

He definitely deserves credit here.

Billionaires become billionaires because they're aggressive and take risks on investments sometimes.

This is something we haven't seen often from the Dolphins and that has been a huge part of our problem the years that we've been spinning tires in the mud.

Ross is a great owner. Atleast he TRIES to be the best. Obviously he gets the blame for is losing but he sure as he'll better get the credit if he wins .

I fully believe Ross said "go get Suh at all costs". Great business decision for the team and the organization. This signing helps on all fronts.

The guy really tries and does everything from what we've seen in his power to help this Franchise. I really don't get the dislike of him as an owner...

Ross gets a +1 today.
The season will play out however it will, hopefully great, but there's plenty more critical decisions to be made by season's end, regarding Hickey and Philbin's future.
Ross has got more tests to come as an owner.

I was about to make a thread. Ross buys the team, and most likely loses money with his new toy. However he admits to not knowing how to build the engine to his new car, he will spend as much as possible to make it fast and shiny no matter what. Hat's off to you Ross you are really a decent owner!

Ross wants to do well and win.
I have always believed that.
Being an owner has a learning curve. So mistakes were made.

I have criticized Ross a lot.

But spending on the stadium renovations and this show a lot commitment, even if hes had really bad luck so far.

Concur. I read yesterday that signing Suh would be a bad football decision (gargantuan $ for a DT) & a good business decision i.e. increased fan base interest/merchandise sales, TV, yada yada yada.

Maybe, some of what has haunted Miami was trying for to make wise football & business decisions?
