Well, you state it like the new hire would definitely be totally against keeping McD, when that is pure speculation.

I can see a situation where a new GM would be fine keeping him for a year. Let's be honest here. The initial year of a new GM is going to be more about clearing cap and drafting well than anything else.

IOW, the way you keep phrasing it is not a "given". It is a possibility, but no more.

No what I am saying is a new GM should be allowed to be able to hire a new head coach if he wants to. If he wants to keep McDaniel for another year that would be fine as well. But he shouldn't be forced to keep him is what I was saying because that never works out well.

I don't know of anyone suggesting a new GM should be "forced" to do so. If they have, I haven't seen it.

I see ppl stating their preference to give McD more time.

Ya it is two different things but a lot of people are suggesting get rid of Grier but they want to keep McDaniel. The bottom line is that should be the decision of the new GM.

I’m ok with this, but I assume this means Chris Grier gets to stay as well and he’s the albatross on this team. He’s the one we need gone imho.

I'm really not mad, that was like 2 moths ago, I'm totally fine dumping this team after 40 years of never bringing me joy.

I'm almost rooting for Grier to keep the job at this point just so I can move on.

I think it's up in the air. He needs to go and the McDaniel needs to give up play calling duties.

I would not had paid anyone last year including tua. Here we are...

Exactly, I don't care if McD stays or goes really, I just can't watch Grier slither around ruining the roster any longer.

Ya that is what sucks. I think Grier and McDaniel are tied to each other so they either both stay or both go.
