TrinidadDolfan
1st Team All-Pro
Steve Ross has our Dolphins floundering in a decade of mediocrity. The product on the field is of his making, and his making alone. He has chosen, by direct extension, the decision makers and the product on the field. The buck stops with him.
If the coach is on the bench flicking through polaroids while the game is sliding, if he has players on the field that are not producing, if the Fins whiff on draft picks, it’s his fault. He as the owner is responsible for the product, and for our W-L record.
The root of his (sole) failures run deep, and have many facets. Firstly, I believe he wanted to own an NFL franchise, badly, because it was a shrewd business decision, not for his love of the game. For all the faults of Jerry Jones, I love his passion for the game and for winning. He lives and breathes his team. Ross is an absentee landlord, which is fine if you have chosen the right people. Ross has chosen mice that eat each other when the cat is away.
To compound the problem, Ross has invited celebrities to the party, why? Now that he is the host, he sees it important to invite Gloria Estefan and Venus/Serena Williams into the ownership ring. Why? Are they providing value? Perhaps. In the same way that celebrities and magnates were invited to the inaugural sailing of the Titanic.
It’s 2008 all over again. Parcells upset with JT who, after a 1-15 record, spends his offseason on Dancing With the Stars. The Fins are going nowhere for a decade, and Ross is somehow putting energy into filling his box with celebrities.
Get a grip and focus on putting a winning product on the field.
Clean house, and get your sh*t together, or hand over the team to someone who cares enough to eat, sleep, breathe this team
