Ross: Marshall was going to be cut/Other issues addressed

I never had a problem with our offseason and I thought the negativity toward our front office was unwarranted. We did right by not giving Flynn and Smith big time money. We did right by getting rid of a head case WR hours before free agency began, where some big name WR were on the market that don't cost draft picks. I've had no problem with our moves, or lack of them, and this article just reinforces that.

Ross says some stupid things occasionally, but this was definitely a good move on his part. He didn't let Ireland do the talking to the fan- he took responsibility and tried to make some kind of explanation and I respect that. We need to have more communications between the FO and fans. Ireland's acute and scheming intelligence does not make for a good PR man, so I hope Ross realizes the positive effect his phone call had and continues this.

Ross is the 2nd riches owner in the NFL, even if he never admits it, if he doesn't sell another ticket is will still be worth 2 Billion Dollars. He can continue to collect of the revenue sharing. So in actuality he his doing us a favor by paying what's need to support this this franchise. Paying the players, the coaches, the front office and etc. Unless we decided to go all socialist like the Green bay Packers. We should at-least give him the benefit of the doubt, unless you have another Billionaire some where ready to buy this franchise, and the way the media and the fans our portraying this team who the else would want to buy this franchise..

If Ross is serious about football and not entertainment why the need to sign all the stars as owners, and why is he talking about moving the game time further back when it takes away from the home field advantage?

you might but they didn't, did you not read the transcript that the man was a locker room distraction? I know you seems to be knowlegeable about the fins but i guess that's why I'm so puzzled why you don't get it.

Ross is constant contradiction, all talk - no action. he's that nerdy kid who always says he did with Susie when he didn't, or will with Jenny when he won't. he'll lie to your face and say it's the truth. he's already thrown his new HC under the 'didn't want the player' bus while in the same sentence admitting he wasn't about to pay 8mil for his QB (or any other: Alex Smith). dude & his boy Ireland are straight full o' sh*t. everything from them is out the side of their neck.

I will reserve my complete evaluation of this offseason until after the draft. As of right now, i have no problem with what has been done. They got what they could for a head case who drops TD passes and didn't pay big bucks for an unproven qb who as of now does not deserve big money. It's time we draft and develope our own qb with quality coaching. Peyton manning was the only quick fix for this team and it wasn't going to happen, even that had a huge risk. Hopefully we will draft stud WR also.

Nothing that Ross said, makes me comfortable with the departure or Brandon Marshall. Even thou he didnt reach his full potential, he still outplayed everyone on offense the past two years. Yes he yelled at Vontae Davis, Henne and Moore, and all that cancerous yelling gave Matt Moore a career year. After yelling at Davis, Davis stepped up his game. I do not mind players yelling at each other as long as its about trying to find a way to win and not quiting. The off the field drama, i dont care because im not into TMZ news and do not follow players off the field. I just have a different perception of Marshall behavior and how it effects the team.

My only concern of Marshall was his drops, but he continued throughout the season not giving up and fixed the problem the second half.

Now I do think Ross speaking to the fans, is a start in the right direction. After a terrible start as an owner, its time for him to start figuring things out himself.

This confirms my thoughts on the Marshall trade. The last thing the new coaching staff wanted was Marshall destroying the psyche and confidence of a rookie QB or even Matt Moore. His post pro bowl interview where he threw Moore under the bus and his lack of self awareness probably turned the coaches off.

As to Matt Flynn, speaking as someone who wanted him signed... I felt that If Philbin really wanted him as his QB, The deal to get him here would have gotten done.

Wow, that's funny. Brandon Marshall was probably the most important guy Moore could have had last season. Watch him fall off the cliff without him.

i don't think it's mutually exclusive. i think you can be 100% serious about football and dedicated to winning, and still explore ways to make the gameday experience more enjoyable, more exciting, more fun for the fans. although star owners and a club in the stadium are absolutely meaningless to me, and i disagree with moving 1pm start times to later in the day, neither of those things make me think ross isn't deadly serious about winning. i'm not saying he's always (or even often) right in the things he does, but i don't think any of them make an argument that he isn't serious about football.
