Ross and Huizenga gave Parcells much of the credit for the Dolphins going from worst to first, from 1-15 to 11-5 and AFC East champs, simply because he brought in all of the pieces, including rookie coach Tony Sparano.

"He (Parcells) is the greatest, and I would hope he doesn't leave," Ross said. "He's in a great situation, I hope, for him."

Parcells has made it clear from the start that this was to be his last stop and the final piece to his legacy, so for him to leave Sparano, Ireland and good friend/offensive coordinator Dan Henning after just one season with plenty of work still to be done doesn't make sense.

"What we did when we came here, we found out guys who loved football, and we really found out about this team really early on is that they love football," Ireland said. "They wanted to take ownership. The cast is a great cast. These guys are football players, and the coaches did a helluva job putting them in position to achieve success. That's why Tony Sparano is the Coach of the Year in my opinion."

Bout time Ross debunked those stupid rumors about him not liking Parcells' or whatever. Just the media trying to make waves for us going into the playoffs as I suspected.

I think Ross probably thought like we did...."WTF? Everyone's known this about Parcell's contract since day 1....What's the big deal?" Then everyone started running wild with rumors.

Hopefully this will end the dumb*** Carl Peterson rumors.

good find and post...i really don't think Parcell's going anywhere(i hope i'm right...crosses fingers)..he's got what he wants in Miami...total control of the football side of an organization, and no owners trying to tell him what to do...and him along with the staff he's put in place has our Phins well on their way to being one of the leagues elite again...i personally don't think he'll leave...just the media trying to cause distractions for our franchise just because they don't like us...

Also, just a thought, Parcells has worked his *** off watching gametapes and scouting and doing all that kinds of stuff over the last year and Do you really think hes willing to just start that all over just for money. What does he need so much money for, hes 67!, and its not like hes poor or something, hes rich as hell as far as im concerned.

I think the greatest point is leaving his 'friends' and much respected co-workers with still so much to do. I think when jeff, Tony and henning all signed on, they believed they would each be a significant corner, along with BP, in rebuilding this thing. I don't think anyone can seriously say this team is a SB contendor yet (although who knows, crazier things can happen). If BP gave it two more years, two more drafts and walked away no matter of the results, I'd say good for him. But I'd be dissapointed if he left now.

Although there's this argument:

My simple response would be, because BP couldn't give a rat's a-zz about the media and probably enjoys watching reporters twist themselves into prezles 'analyzing' the situation. or maybe he's just focused on his team right now. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I think it's a big stretch to suggest that because BP doesn't talk the story has legs.

I usually like hyde, but all media reporters who are in love with their own self-prepetuating industry, he keeps hyping something that really isn't there. he keeps using terms like "when the story broke," "reported on the day of the big game etc.." What exactly broke. The contract is old news, All Mortensen did is remind everybody of it because the sale is imminent. And then guys like Hyde, naturally because speculating all the possible angles (will he stay or will he go, if he goes, where? Does Ross even like him or vice versa, bla bla )which is their tiresome job, I suppose.
A lot of bark, but no bite here

I am glad Ross has made a public statment about it. I hope we are going to start hearing more from him. It would be healthy for our fan base to hear him reach out to us and give poeople reassurances about his intentions as our new captain.

I am sure Parcells put that in the contract in case the dolphins were sold to somebody like Jerry Jones. I would not want to deal with that at his age he would just walk away if that happen.

Ross has 12 million reasons to say everything to keep BP put. BP should take the money and then re-sign, how could you not? It's free money no strings attached, WH put it there because he promised BP he would be the owner long term and that's why BP signed here. WH broke his promise and I'd have no ill will towards BP to take what is rightfully his. I don't want to lose BP but there's also pride on BP's behalf that he doesn't care to be told one thing and have the opposite happen.

i believe that the rumors is merely biased media pundits attempting 2 create a distraction against MIA's playoff run. The media's like that, didn't you pay attention how the media single handledly demonized the President for things he has no control over and glorified Obama without having done one thing yet and made him into the favorite? Same thing here...media 'wants' Ravens to win.
