Ross takes a shot at the D vol. atta boy Jerrah Jr.

Exactly, Its hard to imagine Ross being less frustrated with this team last year..

I think there is a good chance Tony is fired if we lose to the Texans..

You can tell Ross is done with this staff. This guy didn't want Tony as coach and only kept him after his golden boy turned him down. Be it the offense or the defense, he is getting tired of getting embarrassed at home and you can see that and read it in his reactions.

Stephen Ross not pleased with Dolphins defense

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wanted what Brad Childress would call a “kick ass” offense in Miami this year. So far, Ross has gotten his wish.
The only problem is that impressive offensive stats mean nothing unless the defense holds the opponent to fewer points than the offense scores.
Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box (via Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel), Ross said, “Our defense, which was supposed to be so good, I think allowed way too many yards, probably an NFL record. I think that could be fixed.”
Still, Ross gave some credit to the previously struggling side of the ball for its Week One performance against the Patriots.
“I think what was perceived as our biggest weakness, the quarterback situation, that was very positive as probably our best strength of the game Monday night,” Ross said.
And he’s right. The problem for the Dolphins is that, since the days of the Killer Bees defense, the team has been skewed too far toward one side of the ball. In 1982, a team heavy on “D” and light on “O” lost in the Super Bowl to the Redskins. Two years later, with a Dan Marino-fueled attack but a less-than-stout defense, the Fins fell to the Niners in the Super Bowl.
The defense got better after Marino retired, and now that the offense is waking up its fitting that the defense is lapsing into a coma, again.

Wow the owner of a team was upset that we allowed a MNF football record for most passing yards?

Just a hunch here, I think Stephen Ross had a say in telling Ireland/Sparano to cut ties with Benny Sapp. I can imagine he was pissed, though happy for his boy Henne.

the d should be getting ripped when they collapse like that
And to think people wanted nolan to be coach :)
It is like Casey anthony is our defense
we know who is guilty.

I for one Do think he was venting towards the D. "Supposed to be so good"........if he believed they were stout to his liking he would have never went there. He would have simply supported them and tried to come up with some politically correct explanation. Big deal, so we have to shut up our owner now too.......

Look, as a big player in the world of business, Ross needs air time to discuss his thinking about his team, so to let others know (in the context of the world of business) how he runs a company, and how he plans to deal with adversity.

Because Ireland and Sparano are running a lackluster and low-performing team, it will benefit Ross, and his other businesses, to publicly discuss how aware he is and how he will administer, direct, or place expectation of growth and progress. Ireland and Sparano can and have made him look like a fool at times- as if he can make the mistake of hiring the wrong people to run a business of his (noting the slew of embarrassing losses, poor home record, and questionable personnel moves).

How he plans to set this ship right is a long term project / work in progress, and is good for other aspiring leaders to hear about over time.

Exactly Ross can only take so much b4 he is almost forced to make a move..
i think deep down he likes tony but if the team is not winning
and the team continues to get embarrassed at home
with the loyal fan base buying tickets and seeing nothing but defeat
then he will do what he has to do.

Getting the right guy is easier said than done and who he selects will speak
volumes about his goals for our team and how good of an owner he is.

I'm well aware that all the negative talk in the offseason didnt motivate these players. My comment was sarcasm. These guys have been called just short of pure garbage and played like it Monday.

Not a shot. Glad Ross is paying attention though and knows whats going on. I'm not a huge Ross fan but I like that he won't settle for 2nd best and isn't afraid to make a move

Honestly Ross should only point the finger at Ireland and himself. The most glaring weakness this team had was that we didnt have a single guy on defense in years past that could cover a TE and they didnt resolve the issue.

Sapp didnt play his best game but Reshad Jones was the guy(although he played 1 helluva good game)that caused the 99 1/2 yard TD by not playing the over and tried to pick it off.He wasnt even close.Hopefully Reshad learned from this.

Good job to our FO.

We didn't even see Burnett running with TE's. Wasn't even given a chance. They don't make good personnel decisions, this has been known for a while.

Im not sure why he didnt considering New England had 1 or 2 TE's sets all game long.Theres no doubt the FO makes piss poor decisions.

Ireland has to go!
