Ross will talk to Marino about a job with the Dolphins

Really Ross? I'm sure Danny is all ready to jump on a position where you have "no idea" what the job would be...

Why do you always hate on literally everything that Ross does? This doesn't even warrant hate. Meet with Marino and see what he's interested/what the organization needs and then go from there. Don't see how it can hurt. Do you? Unless you believe Marino will do a bad job which is another discussion altogether.

It's almost like it's been done before.....And someone quit.

Some people are good at certain jobs. No shame in it.

Dan's not a front office guy.

I've rarely been critical of Ross. Check my record. My posts are still here.

This is dumb. It reeks of desperation.

Also, remember, Dan quit his FO job before.

I duno about you, but if it's me? You quit on my organization once, that's
it. You're done.

Several years back when Dan left, it wasn't Ross' organization that he quit on. As far as I'm concerned, he has a clean slate with Ross.

The guy has "foot in mouth disease." Plain and simple. All he needed to say is, "I would love Dan to join the Dolphins organization. He would be a great addition." You don't say, "I have no idea what he would do..." What kind of confidence does this give Dan in this guy?

That's my take on it as well.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 47. A few lessons I learned in life is "Don't quit".

Ever.

Once you quit, you'll do it again.

Good player does not necessarily mean good front office guy. Ask Michael Jordan and Isaiah Thomas.

WOW...Really, because he stepped down from a job that changed once he took it and it looked more like a Hey, can you come in and give us a positive PR move for our and not really have any power to do anything! Dan Marino never quit on anything with this organization. He almost Single Handedly had us in the playoffs every year. He never gave up on us. In fact, had he taken the offer that the Bucs offered him he probably would have won a Super Bowl. They did go on to win it just 2 or 3 years later and that was with Brad Friggin Johnson! What would Marino have done with that Defense the year before or two years before? He didn't take it because he was pretty much done playing and also because he could not see himself playing in another jersey. UnFriggin real how quick we forget!! Dan Marino has nothing but love for this organization and has stuck by us through thick and thin. I would absolutely love for that guy to come here and have a chance at getting something he is so past due for!! Even if it is in the Front Office and not on the field, that dude needs to know what it is like to Win A Super Bowl!

What would you have Marino do (outside of obvious PR feel good things)?

I believe the hesitation you should have on this should be directed towards Marino. I think Ross is simply stating the obvious. It's no secret to any Miami Dolphins fan where Dan's loyalties lie. It's all about the golf for Mr. Dan Marino. His past actions make it clear he is not willing to pay the price to be a serious candidate for anything involving running a NFL franchise.

If Ross was to simply lay out the red carpet for Dan then you would have something to really bash Ross over.
