Sometimes it's good to take a step back for a moment and observe the magnitude of change that has taken place to the team in the off-season. The Dolphin 53 man team roster actually includes 20 new faces (11 players from other teams and 9 rookies), representing a 38% change in roster personnel (does not include all the new guys on the Practice Squad).
While the media correctly focuses on the likely impact of our big and expensive new defensive weapon, Ndamukong Suh, there has actually been a very big shakeup in the roster, when you look at the details. Mike Tannenbaum and Dennis Hickey working with the coaches, have been pretty aggressive injecting new talent onto the roster.

11 New Players on the 53 man roster with NFL experience:
Zack Bowman - (entering 8th NFL season)
Jordan Cameron - (entering 5th NFL season)
Greg Jennings - (entering 10th NFL season)
Jeff Linkenbach - (entering 6th NFL season)
Brice McCain - (entering 7th NFL season)
Jacques McLendon - (entering 4th NFL season)
CJ Mosley - (entering 11th NFL season)
Spencer Paysinger - (entering 5th NFL season)
Kenny Stills - (entering 3rd NFL season)
Ndamukong Suh - (entering 6th NFL season)
Logan Thomas - (entering 3rd NFL season)

9 Rookies made the 53 Man roster:
Matt Darr - (*Undrafted from Tennessee)
Jamil Douglas - (Drafted in 4th Round from Arizona State)
Andrew Franks - (*Undrafted from RPI)
Neville Hewitt - (*Undrafted from Marshall)
Tony Lippett - (Drafted in 5th Round from Michigan State)
Bobby McCain - (Drafted in the 5th Round from Memphis)
DeVante Parker - (Drafted in the 1st Round from Louisville)
Jordan Phillips - (Drafted in the 2nd Round from Oklahoma)
Zach Vigil - (*Undrafted from Utah State)

Can you determine %change since the start of last year? That has to be over 80%

The team, specially the starters, look like a well put together team. Now it really is up to the coaches to get us to the playoff!

4 undrated free agent rookies making the team in one season is pretty unheard of. I can't remember ever hearing about this happening on any team.

it is rare...and the nice thing about it is that those 4 players have earn the right to be here! Also it will pay big next year when we start recruiting free agents after the draft.... They can see that if they come ready to play, they have a better chance here to make our team than in other places.

good post. I meant over 80% as of starters. is that a realistic number?

I really like what they have done on this roster. Huge upgrades and young hungry talent. Here's to a great season.

A much needed house cleaning going on. Jay Ajayi, even though on IR right now, has got to factor into the turnover too.
