Just wondering,could Roth be converted from DE to
a Linebacker similar to how AJ Duhe was converted
back in 77"?........77!!!! Damn,I'm getting old.

I'm not sure myself if that is the plan. I didnt attend any of the minicamps, maybe someone can explain to us how he was used? I know both Jason Taylor has a unique role where he lines up at DE and any linebacker position, and I know that David Bowens has a DE/OLB role.

He's certainly got the physical skills to be a DE/OLB. He ran a 4.77, which is well within range for a 3-4 OLB. Some of his major plus sides are his tenciousness in following the flow of the play and his ability to shed blockers.
 
I may be wrong but I believe Roth converted from OLB to DE during his years at Iowa.
 
I think we are going to some simular stuff with JT that they did with Duhe and maybe Roth can fill that roll at times also... Im just excited we will be changing things up.

From what I heard he's going to split time with Holliday and will have the chance to beat him out for the job.

Thats nice to hear that they are letting him compete Im hoping he brings a little "nasty" to the D this year.

yes you are, which means ,so am I--It is possible--i've heard that in certain situations that Roth could play LB (3-4). Why not JT, he has all the qualities that AJ had aswell
 
Maybe JT, D-Bo and Roth can be our hybrid DE/OLB unit. Oh man I cant wait for the start of the season.

He will. did u see his video that was doing the rounds last week? He comes with attitude (right one!) He has a motor on him.

Yup saw the Vids and I love his first step..that gets you in the backfield a lot.
