these 2 guys really need to step up next year. they have azz loads of talent. roth has a very nasty attitude, manny has shown that he can be very disruptive. saban should really focus on making sure these 2 contribute next year. defense would triple productivity if they became the beasts they look to be.

The nice part about how things went this year. Those two didnt need to rush into things to make it happen. I think they will both be very nice players with time.

Saban really impresses me he has brought in young guys with lots of potential and surrounded them quality veterans. If you throw Crowder into that group we have some very good young talent in the front 7

I have to say I'm kind of disappointed with Roth just because he was a projected first rounder and he's one of the few rookies who didn't come in and contribute almost immediately. Our third and fourth rounders played from the beginning and even our seventh rounder (had he not been hurt) I think would have seen some serious playing time.
Manny Wright, on the other hand, is the opposite. He came in a very immature person and player and no one expected much but he's worked extremely hard and he dominated the trenches the few times he got to see the field.

I like manny a lot and think he will do ok. I am a little worried about Roth though, he seems to lack pace. I hope he does well as I had high hopes for him.

I feel the same way about Roth. I really think if he wants to succeed in this league he's going to have to put some weight on.

i think roths main thing is getting a more complete list of rush moves and techniques. not just the bullrush. maybe some extra conditioning. manny needs more conditioning, amongst the obvious maturity.

If Roth and Manny come through, and Crowder and Daniels continue to progress we have built the core of our "D" for years to come with one draft.

I'd also like to what Vickerson has to offer. He was placed on IR to soon, his injury was not as bad as originally anticipated. Vickerson looked better that Wright and Roth in preseason. Hopefully he has spent much of this year in the weight room.

nasty attitude doesnt get it done in the NFL. Roth needs to add to his CV. He needs coaching. he can get that. Hopefully he will bear fruit and be the player he was at collegiate level. he has not done that bad stuffing the run which wasnt expected of him and he may suprise next yr. Manny will be fine next yr IMO.

Roth is playing behind Taylor, Holliday, even Carter. Give him some time and he will become in the next Jason Taylor
