Is it just me or does Roth seem slow and stiff?? Especially on the pick while running across the field he looked more like a DT than a DE. I really expected more out of him than what I have seen. He has shown me NOTHING that translates in to big time player down the road.
I don't expect him to be playing like Ware for Dallas, but I would like to see him show me something. Right now I would not be surprised to see him put on the PS.

he'll intercept a ball next week be patient

Well, our third and fourth round picks have certainly outperformed our second rounder, but that doesn't mean you give up on him.

Roth is a player where it will take a year or two to adjust to the NFL level. He will be fine, so don't worry about him.

Roth is better than you think..

I think Roth will be better with another season or maybe even this year. Saban has said he may need to put on weight and most defnitely needs to get a little stronger.

Unfreakin Real. How much instant gradification do we need?

Hes not Freeney if thats what you are looking for. Let him develope some moves before comdemning him. Hes got the determination part down.

Right now I'd rather have Surtain then Roth.

Surtain makes over 7 million here, while Roth makes like 800k. How do you think we could afford any FA's...

He did seem pretty damn slow. On the pick and I noticed him chasing around a RB a couple of times and not even getting close. I wouldn't count him out yet though, the season hasn't even started. Not all DE's have speed.

I read somewhere where it was suggested that Roth may be better utilized long term by putting on 20-30 lbs and being a Jim Burt type of NT.

How many people are going to continue to compare the two and not understand that they are unrelated. We had to trade sutain for cap reasons. Yes youd rather have him than roth...but if you wanted to keep him we probably wouldnt have been able to sign schulters, t-buck, carter or ronnie brown.

hasn't he had 2 sacks and an interception so far? what more do you want him to do right now?
