I only ask because maybe all this sitting out for no apparent reason is us setting up a trade. I say this for a couple of reasons.

1) The debacle itself that reminds me of Ogun days which ended up in trade
2) Jason Taylor, Cam Wake, and now apparently Quentin Moses is looking pretty darn good at LB as a back up and good size too.
3) The trades today for Ndukwe and Alleman. Seems to me Billy P and co. setting up the future bigtime with guys they find and make others expendable.

It could happen. I cannot imagine they are happy with him sitting out and we now have guys to fill the spot. JT was actually very good at turning plays inside vs. Carolina.

Yeah, he's not practicing or playing because he's hurt. But for some reason nobody is talking about it so the details are mostly unknown.

I hope there isn't people thinking the dude is being blackballed or something? He's not. The guy is not on the field is because he's not in proper condition to being so. It's that simple.

He's a solid role player for us that could develop to an even better player over time. Why trade that, let's keep talent and dump the garbage. If it turns out Roth is out for any other reason then injury then you must get rid of him for the statement it makes alone.

Roth is entering his most important year of his NFL career. If he was healthy, he'd play. What's perplexing is that he was sent to a groin specialist that concluded that Roth was okay to practice. On the other hand, he did fail the initial conditioning test.

If this has been because of a contract dispute, then the Dolphins could call his bluff and put him on the PUP.

Regardless, with the continued development of our D-linemen and improved run-defense, Roth's absence may not hurt. Also, with Wake and Moses, there are bodies to plug in at OLB.

Roth should then be be PUP-ed.

I'm telling you this is NOT just a "simple" case of him being hurt. There are way too many mixed and conflicting signals. Yes, this time a week or two from now, we could be discussing the compensation we got for trading Matt Roth.

I would not be suprised to see Roth traded either. Seems too much to me like JT last year. Roth is the only one who thinks hes hurt. Kind of like a holdout without the holdout.. I personally think he wants to get traded so he can get a nice deal from another team. Hes got to cash in on his success that he had last year....This year he is lookin at losing playin time to Taylor and Wake.

the doctor said nothing is wrong with him. if he could pass a physical he could be traded. but he apparently thinks he's too hurt to risk practicing.
Yup , if he could pass a physical.......................but the last one he took he didn't pass.

I dont think we trade him. Look at the age of our OLBs, Roth may not be the greatest pass rusher in the world but he's young and good at stopping the run. An injury to JT or JP, then what? Plus if JP has another good year or good enough to keep his stock up I would like to trade him while we can and try to get some picks to draft some young LBs.

I don't know if that qualifies as a physical. It's a conditioning test. Not sure that's the same thing.
