roth

if you look real close you will see him come from behind until he is even with Jakes shoulder pads. He then puts his right hand on the front of the shoulder pads, his facemask right on the top of the armhole of the pads and then put his left hand on the bottom of the number six on his back...he then shoved and lifted. An illegal block.

Did he get flagged for anything? I don't think so. It looked legal to me, he essentially did the same thing that the Broncos thug did

Crowder has become my favoriter player.

He's a beast. There was one series where he broke up three plays in a row by himself-- although the third was a BS pass Int call against him.

We still owe Denver for that cheap a$$ hit on Chambers a couple years back. I think Roth should have went and b!tch slapped Shannohan while he was at it for all the people hurt by Denver's cut blocking over the years!

He got flagged, though I agree it looked to be exactly the same thing as when Wilson hit Gus. Roth was not flagged for blocking in the back, but for unnecessary roughness.

from the play by play at nfl.com:

1-10-DEN39 (8:04) J.Plummer pass intended for J.Putzier INTERCEPTED by L.Schulters at MIA 38. L.Schulters to DEN 37 for 25 yards (P.Chukwurah).
PENALTY on MIA-M.Roth, Unnecessary Roughness, 15 yards, enforced at DEN 37.

Wilson didn't deliver a cheap shot. It was a clean hit. Roth's hit wasn't that bad but it still was illegal.
Don't think it was. Roth got to the side of JP before he hit him. Diedorf keep saying he hit JP in the back which was not accurate.

in the last play where JT takes the fumble to the house, roth run next to him to protect him, what i saw was that he waited for plummer to knock him down, but i couldn't see if he nailed him did you guys see it?

Give it to Roth too, Little Jakie was in his ear trying to get him to explode, and he didn't; although, you could tell he wanted to snap him like a twig by the expression on his face....hehe

Stang, I love that SNAKE in your avatar.

I haven't focused on him yet. But I did notice during the game that Roth was in on a lot of those goalline formations. He might not be able to mount a pass rush. But maybe he's strong enough not to give ground when it counts down there.

Keith Traylor and Kevin Carter were unblockable when it counted today.

I was going to bring that up.
So many on here were starting "Roth a wasted draft pick" threads during the preseason.

Apparently, the coaches feel differently if they are willing to put Roth into such crucial situations as goal line D.
There is no more crucial a situation for a Defense.
Obviously the staff feels he is a talent to put a rookie into those situations.

He some good plays.

Nope, If you look closely, Roth pushed Plummer from his right breast.......if that word clarifies it for you. It was a clean hit all the way.......but the funny thing is is that Roth acted just as he is supposed to act. Like he did nothing at all and walk to the sideline......funny as hell. I love Matt Roth!

yep, his reaction made it great to watch... he didnt even acknowledge Plummer as he walked away. smart. calm, and collected.

Roth was great. I was watching thegame with Raider fans at my house and they agreed that he would have been perfect for the Raiders. Hitting people, not caring who they are or what their stature is. Then just walking away like business as usual. The penalty didn't kill us and it p.o.ed Plummer which I think ended up making him unravel even further.

I also liked the scrum McKinney got into when the Broncos jumped offside. He popped right up and got in their face. Seth has played much better recently and is slowly ( SLOWLY) starting to come off my poo poo list.

Brown, Crowder, Roth , Daniels......

It's still early but all of these rookies not only played but contributed greatly to the Phins win today.

At this point you have to love our draft! :D

I loved it when Roth dropped Plummer .. just for the principle of the matter ... thats a 15 yard penalty that he wont get yelled at for from Saban, Im willing to bet.
