Carey looks to be recovered from his offseason knee surgery, but the Fins' run blocking was atrocious in the exhibition opener, particularly on the right side. RT Marc Colombo and a declining Carey represent one of the worst strong-side duos in football. Miami's offense projects to struggle mightily this season.

Yep.

Carey is declining? At guard?

I don't think so.

I do...watching him very very closely during last nights game he gave no push during run blocking. More times than not it was either a stalemate or he was being pushed backwards. Now during pass protection he did fine.

But thank God we have Long, and maybe the other brother Mike, to protect no name QB's and wanna be RB's for the next 10 years.

 :lol2:Thank God for fans like this

It's really ****ing sad and pathetic how God Awful we are on the offensive line after 3 years of the "o-line guru".

I'm sick of hearing about potential. The o line outside of Long is A-W-F-U-L

Any line that has Colombo on it will struggle. Apparently our FO couldn't get any tape of the 2010 Cowboys to confirm this.

This has probably caught the attention of our coaching staff as I read this morning that we are looking to sign Shaun O Hara or Leonard Davis...wouldnt surprise me if we signed both

Colombo was god awful in dallas he will be god awful here.

Carey has been declining for years, moving his position probably wasn't wise

Jon Jerry eat himself out of this league in less than 1 year. thats impressive.

Nate Garner gets out of bed and breaks his foot it seems like, not help from him

it's a train wreck.

i do believe Carey should be moved back to right tackle. Signing Colombo was a mistake.

Carey blocked for exactly four run plays last night, in the first preseason game after a shortened training camp.

I think I'll wait a little longer before I determine how Vernon Carey is playing guard.

We can give Carey another game at guard but he really wasn't getting a push (and neither was Pouncey or Incognito) but if Carey stays at G, who's gonna play RT?

I think Carey needs to go back to RT and we need to sign O'Hara for C and Brian Waters for RG and move Pouncey to LG.

Long
Pouncey
O'Hara
Waters
Carey

With Matt Moore staring at QB. And Gates starting at WR2. Jimmy Wilson starting at NB and getting reps at FS.
