Hey everyone glad website is back on...and glad to be back...

everyones been wondering what we should do with the number one pick..and it just came to me..lions are asking for a 5th round pick for Rogers..and r also talking about trading roy williams...y not offer r number one pick for both them..a trade that would be like this:

Dolphins Get:-------- Lions Get:
Roy Williams--------- Miami 1st & 6th
Shaun Rogers
Lions 1st

it would give us a big time receiver and a big time DT and the both r proven..just wanted ur opinions on the idea...

that is our second best option after the trade down with dallas. i dont even know that we would have to give up our 6th for that scenario. i know everyone says screw the points system, but when we have the 1st overall and it works in our favor, why not try? if we threw in our 6th i might also want lehman - not many people know about him but i think he could be a solid backup.

Shaun Rogers is a FA? Why would we trade a draft scenario for somebody we could get for nothing? This is the second thread I have seen this in. I might be lacking knowledge somewhere in what FA means, but basically, HE can test the market and see his worth. Not the Lions but Rogers can determine where he plays next

Shawn Rogers is not a FA he has three years left on his contract. There is a rumor that
the Lions will either trade or release him this year.

roy williams is injury prone and and shaun rodgers is just fat. no thanks, would much rather trade with dallas.

i would do that trade in a heartbeat..it fills 2 positions of need with 2 players that are already proven plus the 15th pick in the draft for the 1st pick..plus salary cap wise it probably makes sense..

Gotcha. Guess I shouldve looked it up first. In that case

Still no...probably wouldnt trade away 14 drafts spots plus a 6th for two under-achieving players...

I think a trade with Dallas is definitely an option BUT you don't trade for Barber! Wasn't JJones Parcells' guy? He couldn't cut it so they gave Barber a chance - Jones was a 2nd rd pick - Barber was a 4th. PLEASE people stop talking like Barber really is a Pro Bowl caliber back. The Pro Bowl is a joke nowadays - Barber is not Pro Bowl level!

IMO we take their 2 #1's and we try for Canty. We need D - Parcells and half his staff including his GM know that roster as well as anybody - they know who would fit their system best and I'd expect them to ask for those players. NOT a RB! Right now we have Holliday and RWright at DE so we aren't bad there. We have 1 DT that is backup material in Solai possibly. Porter and JT at OLB and really NO ILB's unless the rooks step up. I'm not a Crowder fan - he makes no impact plays and most of his tackles are more than 5 yards downfield. 1 DB in WAllen and that's it for the secondary. This D is in for an overhaul! Especially the secondary

If we trade down i'd rather get more picks, not other teams players, even if they are proven and good. We've been down the other road and it never seems to work. ie: culpepper, porter, green, etc. etc.

ronnie brown is not going to be the same after his acl injury, ricky williams hasnt had more than 6 carries in a season in a few years, lorenzo booker is ballin but he's more of a 3rd down threat than a workhorse. we have no stability at this position or any position for that matter. so why not get barber?

I was the one who proposed that deal a few days ago. But u arent giving MIA enough in return for the #1 overall pick. Ur scenario is awful! MIA didnt even pick up any draft picks in ur deal.

DET picks #15 that's not even 1000 pts. R Williams may be worth a 1st rounder, but counts as about 800 pts. Rogers doesn't cost more than 200 pts. So DET is still at least 1000 pts below.

They need to add a few more picks for that deal to fall through or even make any sense. The point in a trade down is adding picks. Now maybe if they added their 2nd round pick and a 2nd round pick next season. And that still doesnt add up to 3000 pts. But thats settling for less value.

For all that giving up I'd just pass on a trade down and just draft Matt Ryan at #1 and send the #57 pick to DET for R Williams and our 6th round pick for Rogers.

then just make sure that we fixed our OL via FA and some.

Because it isnt like ur scenario has us picking up any extra picks.

Nice explanation, up until the Matt Ryan thing LOL

I would MUCH rather give up the #1 pick for another #1 pick (15) and two underachievers than for Matt Ryan LOL...I mean, either Williams or Rogers could throw interceptions all day long..and their collective salaries would still probably be less

please no barber. we dont need him. think of all the other positions that we need filled. RB is the only position we have decent stability in. brown will be okay, williams is cheap and has extremely low mileage, and booker will be a fine scat back. just think about it. it doesnt make any sense on a rebuilding team, or any team that has bigger fish to fry. think receiver, think tight end, think every position on defense, just dont think RB anymore, please?

Who is to say RB won't come back strong next year? IMO this team is a ways away - we need to overhaul the D and OL. We need to shore up the QB position and get some WR's and TE's. Running back is not a high need right now. Heck - bring back Chatman and you have some depth. You NEED to fix BOTH lines first! If we don't fix up front we go nowhere AGAIN. Sorry but sexy rexy ain't the answer. Carey and Satele okay - the only other wild card could be Shelton at guard. Minimum 2 new starters but I'd say 3 on the OL.

Who are lions in love with that will not be available when they pick?....
