Roycey boy tested positive for Nandrolone, a commonly used anabolic steroid, after the Sakuraba fight on the 2nd...

Gracie (14-3-3) has been suspended from June 2, 2007 through May 30, 2008, and is fined $2,500, the maximum penalty by the CSAC. The 40-year-old member of the legendary fighting family has until July 13 to appeal the suspension to the CSAC.

Of all the people I would expect to have respect for the sport...These high profile guys getting popped for roids is going to bring a lot of bad publicity at the worse possible time...With the sport in the midst of a massive boom many are looking for even the slightest reason to try kill momentum, and this is the type of thing that should be easily avoided...

It's not good for the sport, but thankfully Dana White and the UFC are constantly testing their atheletes. I don't think you'll be seeing anything like this come out of the UFC for a while. It doesn't surprse me that it came from a different league.

Yes this is true, the only problem is newer fans and people that don't understand the sport, don't realize there is a difference, and plenty of journalists who are against MMA irresponsibly play on this...

A couple days ago I was watching Around the Horn, they were discussing Tommy Morrison's fight, and were generally clueless. Woody Paige was really ripping on the sport, and called MMA the UFC's competition and a bunch of other completely ignorant crap...

J.A. Adande did know his **** though..

It's not an organiztion thing. It's a state athletic commission thing. UFC or whoever has no control over it.

Plus many UFC guys have failed tests after fights.

Royce, has becomes what him and Rickson used to make fun of.

One dimension fighters. I lost respect for Royce a long time ago. this is just meh. IMO. the only Gracie I ever been a fan of was Renzo.

When I used to study Ju-jitsu our master and the sensei's didn't condone any extreme fighting. My school was founded in Trinidad. The master didn't have very kind words for the Gracie's, as they would actually challenge our school to have people fight them in the octagon. Some people walk past the line into it not being about self defense anymore and only being about ego.

They are doing more test to make sure it was a positive becuase there have been a few false positives in this sport before. I am still waiting on more evidence
