Apologies if this has been picked up already, but per http://miamiherald.typepad.com/spor...more-players-on-their-radar-heat-marlins.html

We might be interested in Seattle's RT Giacomini. I'd posted mid/late last season that if he his FA that I'd love to get after this dude. Just one nasty, behemoth type OL that I love, with particularly nimble feet to enable a good fit in ZBS but brings that nasty, dominant but controlled side of OL play. Could book-end the OL with Albert for a few years as he's only 28.

Agghhh I'd be over the moon if this happens.

I like it too. Played with Seahawks yea? For sure Tannehill wuldnt be getting sacked 55 times lol.

And the fact tat he's from a Brazilian background would be a big draw with endorsements in the Brazilian/Latin community of south Florida.

If we sign this guy I will put my full trust in Hickey from here on out.

He has some connections with Philbin as he used to play for him in GB. I thought we would go after him for sure. Hope it happens, he fits what we're doing perfectly

I'll be satisfied with Giacomini, Howard, or Strief. I'd like to go into the draft without needing to draft a tackle.

Fmr Packer and Mass kid. Joe must love that.

Road grater though

Count me in!. It would be great if we cold just focus on guard during the draft as far as O-line.

IF... we did sign Giacomini or a n other RT for that matter - then I would be supportive of the idea of going all in to resolve the OL issue via FA, with, for example, Wade Smith and Evan Dietrich-Smith at the guard spots as they should come in at decent prices.

This then lets you use the early rounds of the draft to go playmaker, be it TE/LB/RB/CB in whichever order.

Probably unheard off, but considering we in essence are looking at the possibility of replacing 4 of 5 OL positions, I'd much rather go with known vets to shore it up and increase the confidence level of looking after your potentially 'franchise' QB - than look to draft kids that you 'hope' make the grade. As this years draft is deep for OL you could pick up some developmental type talent in rounds 3-5 and stash behind the vets while they learn their trade.

Let's not forget the Seahawks O-line was pretty bad last year as well, even though they won the SB.
