Word on espn news this morning that Rhonde Barber will be suspended for this weeks game against Miami for punching the ref last week.

I think we all knew this was coming. What he did was wrong. You cannot go around throwing punches.

Oh snap! You know Ronde is such a standup guy that is really just such a baffling thing.

BUT I'LL TAKE IT!!!!

Before all you starte the "Good"! posts. He was trying to get Mawaes hand off his facemask. The ref was so close he could have kissed both of them. It was unintentional. The ref even admitted he was too close.

"Breaking News"
Added: August 12, 2004 - The thread title "Breaking News" is only to be used when actual, bigtime news is breaking. This is a rule we take very seriously. While this is an internet message board, many Dolphin fans come here for their Dolphin-related news. And few if any of them appreciate being "taken". There are some things we hold sacred. This is one of them.

This rule also prohibits the intentional posting of sensational news that is known to be false.

Cleat, are you saying that Ronde isn't suspended?
I've been listening to Tampa radio all morning. Haven't heard a word.
Just asking for a link. Hate for that poster to get in trouble.

From the pictures I saw, yes it looked like he was simply chopping at the hand grabbing his face mask.....however, he missed and hit the ref in the face, laying him out. Hitting the ref intentional or not has to be punishable.

You cant use trying to seperate Mawae's hand from his face mask as an excuse. Thats what the refs job on the field is....to control order. If Maewae doesnt let go when the ref comes in, then Mawae would be penalized. I am tired of players thinking they are above the rules and can act out any thing they fancy without consequences.

You cant take the law into your own hands. I think its a good rule and should be enforced to the full extent. The refs have to be respected and order has to be controlled from their authority.
