A Miami paper has reported this as a possibility in the offseason. What are your thoughts on this, both regarding plausibility and also if you think it's a good idea?

Regarding the plausibility, I just don't see why Minnesota would do it. Say what you will about Daunte's bad year this year--it wasn't due to Moss leaving, it was more due to Linehan leaving. After all, Moss was hurt last year a lot of the season. I think Daunte is going to rebound and be a dominant QB again, and I can't see who Minnesota would be targeting in the trade, as no matter who they add on defense, the defense tends to underachieve, and on offense the only thing I could think is "running back", which to me is silly, because now you'd be stuck with Brad Johnson, who is still decent, but aging, as your starting QB. I have no idea how this would fly.

Good idea? I think so. No, Daunte doesn't have turf to play on or the quality of receivers he had in Minnesota, but he'd have Linehan again as a coordinator (providing Scott doesn't jump ship and go elsewhere) and he might really be able to get more out of Chambers and Booker. However, I think the cap implications could force Miami to make a lot of cuts. Still the thought is exciting even if it's not real realistic.

I'm not sold on him mainly because of his injury. He won't even be ready to play until a couple weeks into the regular season.

I honestly dont see Minn trading him because of one bad year. I also dont think Carr will be left unsigned by houston. I think that our best chance of getting a GOOD Qb is in the draft. If we want more crappy Fiedler-Feeley stuff, we will go after Kitna or another teams table scraps.

I wouldn't knock Jon Kitna whatsoever. He had two solid seasons as a starter in Cincy as a starter. 26 tds in one season isn't chopped liver.

Culpepper will be 31. Is anyone a little turned off by this? I want a QB for the future and IMO giving up a lot to get a guy who will be here for 3 or 4 years and has most likely had his best years just doesn't seem too attractive.

Daunte was born 1/28/1977. He's only 28.

note those were the bungles not this carson palmer ran team.

A Bengals team that went 8-8 the last year Kitna started for the first time in years. Kitna was a large part of the reason for their resurgence in '03.

Yes, Carson Palmer is a better QB, but it isn't merely his play that's ratcheted the team's success up, it's also the defense forcing a large amount of turnovers. I don't think the Bungles in 2003 with Carson Palmer at this year's quality win 11 of their first 15 games.

How many Cullpepper threads? he will not be healthy until at least the beginning of next season, He tore up his ENTIRE knee. DON'T WANT HIM!!!!
