Rumor: Peyton Manning will need second neck procedure, out indefinitely

John Michael Vincent of ESPN 1070 Indianapolis reports Peyton Manning will need to undergo another procedure on his neck.
Be skeptical of the report until it's confirmed elsewhere. Manning will reportedly be out "indefinitely" if it's true. Adam Schefter's report that the organization is preparing to go forward with Kerry Collins as the Week 1 starter does lend some credibility to this report. We'll let you know when we hear more. Colts are a 5-win team at most without Peyton Manning. Quarterbacks are absolutely horrible, no running game, defense is not good enough to keep things close.

Colts president Bill Polian said Sunday he knows nothing about a talk radio report that Manning needs a second neck surgery. The report originated from a Twitter update from 1070-AM The Fan in Indianapolis.

Sources told La Canfora there has been no additional surgical procedure scheduled.
