OK, let me stress this is JUST a RUMOR right now but its getting a lot of circulation so its worth mentioning.

Roger Clemens and Johnny Damon have both failed steroid tests and are both appealing them currently.

Like I said, I can't stress this enough, its just a RUMOR as of now. But one that is going around in a lot of circles and might very well be true.

I heard this rumor on the ESPN boxing message board maybe 10 days ago. The guy was saying "he had sources and we would all see the truth" when everyone was calling him an idiot. Thats weird.

The rumor is all over the place now. I heard it about 10-15 days ago too, but didn't say nothing because I thought it was just message board BS made up by some 12 year old with a keyboard. Now some radio stations are talking about it. More and more it's out there being discussed. It was even brought up on a legit ESPN News show today as well.

Doesn't mean its TRUE, but is being discussed in legit places, so...........who knows.

Peter Gammons shot down this rumor in his article on Monday. And I believe the MLB issued a statement denying this report too.

Gammons was also the one who said that Palmeiro was just the tip of the iceberg for big name players testing positive. That's the problem with the MLB appeal process, it takes to damn long. Rogers Clemens would be the true test to sports writers on whether or not they would vote in a steroid user. It seemed like Clemens was dead with Boston and then suddenly he got a second wind when he got to Toronto. I think a lot of sports writers would look at his last year in Boston as the last he was clean if it is true he tested positive for roids. That then creates the question, did Clemens do enough in Boston to make the Hall of Fame? It would be easy for a lot of sports writers to dismiss Palmeiro from the Hall of Fame since a lot of writers questioned whether they were going to voter for him anyways. Clemens would be the true test!

After learning that Alex Sanchez tested positive, nothing surprises me. :)

By the way, if Clemens is busted for steroids, I just want to add that it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Johnny Damon has a website were he says the rumor is false... I do like how he says he is Confident he won't test postive. I guess nobody after Raffy will totally deny it...

Clemens has been rumored for years, Damon I find a little surprising!

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Damon tested positive. I have no real basis for this claim other than my own opinion. I love Damon for everything he's done for the Red Sox organization, but the guy is just flat out HUGE.

People make it sound like Damon is this little skinny guy, the guy is enormous.

Yes Damon has really filled out in the last couple of years. His website lists him at 6'2 190....
