I am having a lot of fun reading all the speculation in this forum. Although after a while it gets stale because the same draft/trade themes keep popping up- i.e., draft Ryan/Long, trade top draft pick with ____(name your team), Taylor for a second, etc.

So I decided to go onto other fan forum's to see what the common rumors were on their sites. I thought it would be a good way to check if our theories carried much merrit.

Here are just a couple I came across.
Falcon fans don't want Ryan: http://life.atlantafalcons.com/FORUMS/Topic3229257-45-1.aspx

Cowboy fans want McFadden bad, but doubt they can get a trade done:http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115133 (a side note on this is most people don't think they would need to deal with the dolphins to get it done- Perhaps trade with oakland).

So my question to you is: Have you come across any interesting threads in other forums that substantiate some of our hopeful theories (i.e., trade number one pick for 10 first round picks) or perhaps deflate them? Please share the more interesting ones.

P.S. this is my first thread so be gentle;-)

Falcons fans dont want Ryan because Chris Redman and Joey Harrington are potential franchise quarterbacks.....right?

This is why fans are idiots.

They dont want Ryan because even Falcon fans are smart enough to realize he sucks

Doesn't Ryan come with the same type of hype Harrington came with before he was drafted? Who says Ryan will make it as a pro? We all have an opinion, some right some wrong.

The reason the Falcons would consider passing on Ryan is because, like many, they feel the gap between Ryan and the next group of QB's is shrinking. Since ATL selects so high in the second round they have an opportunity to select whoever remains of Brohm, Flacco, and Henne. Why go high risk with the 3rd overall pick when you can grab a guy like Dorey, Gholston, or Ellis? Especially considering QB's ranked fairly close to Ryan will be around when you select in the second.

We may not be seeing the results yet but that is what we did last year by passing on Quinn and waiting to select Beck. Whether you agree with it or not, that is the logic.

As far as Dallas fans wanting McFadden, trading with Oakland makes no sense because Al Davis wants McFadden. The only way they could get this done would be to move ahead of Oakland. If ATL doesn't want Ryan they would make the perfect candidate. They could trade for the Cowboys later round selections, still get a high rated QB, and pick up some draft picks along the way. There is very little need for anyone to trade with Miami at this point.

You hit it right on the nail. The Falcons with that pick can solidify their oline or Dline and we should be doing the same. If you read on every top pick teams board no one wants this guy that high.

I have been thinking the same thing all along. J.Jones DOES want McFadden and he wants him bad. But the link before is right. He absolutely doesn't feel he has to deal with Miami to get him. He's looking for a little better bargain. He would simply soil his pants if we picked that guy, and although I don't think that is who we really need, I would laugh my butt off if we DID pick him, sit back and say, "Let the Cowboy offers begin!"
