Rumors- JLC: Divide Between Philbin and FO/ Ross may trade for Harbaugh

I'll tell you why I believe this report. David Canter, who represents a number of Dolphins players, has been ripping on the coaching staff for two years. He was no big fan of Jeff Ireland, but when we fired Ireland he came out and said that Ireland was essentially being scapegoated when more parties deserved blame.

He's getting that from somewhere, and being that he's an agent, that somewhere has got to be players on the roster.

Interesting take.

JLC has some connection for knowing what is happening the ex-Jets angles. Not sure where.

Also, I take that RT is much more safe than Joe going fwd.

RT will be on the roster next season. He has an option that has to be picked up this off-season, but it's for 2016. The new staff will decide what to do with him.

If it's Harbs, it's likely that Tannehill will be your starter again in 2015, and could then wind up being replaced by a draftee, similar to Alex Smith. So yeah, RT is much safer than Joe, but only for one year.

I have said the same thing Hayden. Aponte is one of those executives that continually gets promoted to be moved to become someone else's problem. Ross took on the problem to get in the NFL's graces, pure and simple strategic move.

While many on this board loved her contracts and leveraged position that helped get Ireland out the door, it was apparent to me Aponte is more of a black widow executive. There is a path of devastation wherever she has been. She creates conflict and plays allegiance games within the office. Unlike most office environments, her efforts lead to people losing their jobs while she slithers into more power behind the scenes.

For a minute, fans need to stop and think... what has Dawn Aponte done to deserve this much stature and power in a NFL Franchise? Nothing. She has been given special titles along her journey. I believe people should be rewarded for what they do, not who they know or their last name. As we all know, that rarely happens in the world. But unfortunately, this problem is tearing our team apart.

Aponte is an unneeded negative force within our organization. We need football people in our organization making football decisions. I'm tired of seeing people who know nothing about football filling decision making ranks within our organization. We need football minds in our organization.

And now I'm officially tired of hearing the name Dawn Aponte. She has done nothing for this team. Nothing. Time to promote her to the NFL Front Office.
 
Sorry, I can't take anything JLC says at face value. EVERY SINGLE THING he has ever reported on in reference to the Dolphins has been proven wrong at some point.

That being said, I have no doubts that Aponte is a snake. She needs to be flushed out with the rest of them if we ever hope to have a stable, dysfunction-free franchise.

The way I see it, we should either be thankful that Dawn Aponte is helping us get rid of two big problems (Ireland and Philbin), or upset that she is a cancerous growth within the organization.

Maybe both.
 
Beware the Mangina. Aponte is close friends with Tannenbaum and Mangini and if she's still wielding significant power in the next few months I can see Tannenbaum getting hired as GM and Mangini as head coach.
 
I wonder if we could trade Philbin and a draft pick for Harbaugh. Ship Joe over there just to troll Jonathan Martin.

That makes no sense. She's not making personnel decisions; she's a contract person. There's little reason to think her job is in jeopardy just because the team may make a coaching change.

Ummm... no. Garfinkel isn't really a football guy and Dan Marino making personnel decisions is fanboi fantasy. Too many people think that because Elway is finding success with Denver that Marino will find similar success with Miami. Elway gained front office experience for years in the Arena League. Marino has no front office experience at all. He'd have to learn as he went along. No thanks.

Garfinkel I think understands a path to get this thing on track.

I think Marino is going to have more pull than you think come January to put an organization together.

If Dawn gets Eric Mangini in house, in some capacity, I will take back all I said about her. LOL.
