Rumors- JLC: Divide Between Philbin and FO/ Ross may trade for Harbaugh

If Miami trades for a coach...that will be one incredibly stupid deal. If a team wants to get rid of a HC so bad let them fire him, don't sacrifice future players for it.

So Don Shula wasn't worth a draft pick?

How that dolt still has a job is inexplicable. He should be fired.

He's probably burned all of his bridges to front offices and agents by reporting this crap, so now he is forced to just make things up to appear like he's doing his job

Jim Harbaugh is NOT Don Shula

but, i dont know about the harbaugh thing. ross's reputation started off with a permanent hit over the first harbaugh scandal. and now he is repeating it by AGAIN going after JH while our coach is still in place?

ross is bad but i am hoping he is not THAT bad. if he does this, he is DONE in nfl circles and we wont ever get a decent coach again while he is here after harbaugh fails.

If he really is negotiating for Harbaugh, I hope it's because he has his mind made up that Philbin is done. Otherwise, we might be looking at Philbin getting extended after a crappy season.

41-14-1, 5-3 in postseason last three years. Shula he ain't but Philbin he ain't either.

If there is an NFL team trying to grab Harbaugh then it would be the Raiders.
No move for the family.
COaching position available.
Total FU Ego move for Harbaugh.

I agree, and he would have total control....Davis would fire the GM and let Harbaugh bring in his people to run the team.....that would be the best move the Raiders can make

Jim Harbaugh is NOT Don Shula

At this point in his career, Harbaugh has accomplished more than Shula did in his first three years as a head coach.

1963: With an influx of young talent the Colts struggle early in their first season under Coach Don Shula. However the Colts would end the season on a strong note by winning their final three games to finish with an 8-6 record.

1964
: After dropping the first game of the season in Minnesota to the Vikings the Colts embark on a ten game winning streak on the way to winning the Western Division Championship with a 12-2 record, as Quarterback Johnny Unitas wins the NFL MVP with 2,824 yards passing. In the NFL Championship Game the Colts face the Cleveland Browns. However, nothing would go right in Cleveland as the Colts are whitewashed 27-0.

1965
: The Colts appear to be a strong contender for the Western Division Championship again. However injuries to Quarterback Johnny Unitas and backup Gary Cuzzo forced the Colts to turn to Tom Matte in a must-win season ending game in Los Angeles against the Rams. Wearing a plastic wrist brace that carried the team's list of plays, Matte led Baltimore to a 20-17 victory that gave the Colts a share of the Western Division Title at 10-3-1 with the Green Bay Packers. The Colts and Packers would battle into overtime with the game tied at 10. However, there was no magic for the Colts this time as the Packers won the game on a Field Goal a little over a minute into the second overtime period.

Im so sick of the Aponte witch hunt

She is a member of the Dolphins staff
She probably does her job better than anyone else on that staff in recent years

If she was a man her name would never ever be mentioned on here. How many of you can even name our new assistant GM without using google? Aponte works for the Dolphins, she is a woman. ****ing deal with it

I lost all respect for Dawn when on Hard Knocks it came out she threatened to force Tannehill to re-enter that draft if he didn't give in to her demands. The "don't make me turn this car around" negotiation tactic with the first round pick and face of your franchise leaves a lot to be desired, but maybe thats just me.

Oak is a train wreck, Harbaugh will be a Fin or say sayonara to the NFL and be a Demi-god in college ball.

### According to a source with direct knowledge, there is no truth to a CBS report of friction between Philbin and team executive Dawn Aponte. Their relationship remains strong and their job duties do not put them in position for conflict.

And contrary to Jason LaCanfora's report, it was owner Stephen Ross – not Aponte --- who hired former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaumas a consultant.

Aponte and Tannenbaum get along well, but her job does not entail hiring of consultants. That’s Ross’ domain as owner.

Aponte reports to GM Dennis Hickey, who reports to Ross. And Philbin also reports to the owner. It’s a simple structure that has worked well since Hickey came on board, because Hickey has shown a willingness to get Philbin’s input on personnel.

Though Philbin and Jeff Ireland didn’t see eye to eye, Philbin and Hickey are getting along fine, according to the source with direct knowledge.

Philbin’s biggest challenge is whether he wins enough games this season to earn a fourth season as coach. But there are no ongoing office politics that are going to doom Philbin, contrary to that CBS report.

LaCanfora does some good work, but he has irked the Dolphins with several other inaccurate stories about them, including his persistent reports in March and April that the Dolphins were trying to trade Mike Wallace.

Translation: Jason La Canfora, you are now on Boss Ross' ****list.

That is quite a rebuttal to JLC.

I think Barry Jackson has no use for JLC either. Anyone else get that inkling?

Every single credible reporter who works NFL scoops has no use for JLC. It's the reason why we ridicule him here. As Chambers pointed out, Jay Glazer had a scoop recently where he straight up called JLC out for making things up. I thought he was gonna challenge him to a fistfight.
